Throughout my academic journey, I have had the opportunity to learn and grow alongside individuals who are two years older than me. While some may see the age difference as a disadvantage, I believe there are several advantages to learning alongside older students. Studying with older students since primary school provided a more challenging academic environment for me. Older students tend to have a deeper understanding of the material and can offer different perspectives on classroom discussions. This encouraged me to push myself to achieve higher levels of academic success. In addition, studying with older students also have help me develop important life skills. I improved my communication skills, and developed resilience and adaptability in challenging situations. I think that these skills will be useful throughout my personal life and can help me achieve success in all aspects of life.
In high school, I had the privilege of being part of a championship-winning basketball team in our city. Playing basketball has had a profound effect on my life. Firstly, Through playing basketball, I have learned to value the input and skills of others, and to work collaboratively towards a shared goal. Secondly, basketball has taught me the value of perseverance and hard work. The sport requires physical and mental discipline, and mastering the various skills involved in basketball requires hours of practice and dedication. Through the sport, I have learned the importance of setting goals, working hard to achieve them, and persevering through setbacks and challenges. When it came time for me to choose my field of study, I was drawn to economics due to its vast range of topics. I was intrigued by the role that economics played in shaping our world and society. As I delved deeper into my studies, I realized the potential impact that economists could have on the world. They have the ability to analyze and predict future trends, identify potential problems, and propose solutions to improve society. I believe that being an economist is a noble profession, one that carries the potential to have a positive impact on both the country and the world. Furthermore, being an economist has allowed me to see the world in a different light. I am now learning to look beyond surface-level factors and identify the root causes of economic issues. I am able to apply a critical lens to global events, and my perspective has broadened in a way that I believe will serve me well in all aspects of life. My main purpose is to help my country to show next economic miracle to the world. This can be achieved by learning how to manage our natural resources and sell ready products in the international market rather than raw materials. This is one of the best ways to improve the exporting statistics, which in turn, is super essential to raise the standard of living of Uzbekistan’s residents through creating more jobs and increasing consumer purchasing power. Uzbekistan can adopt emphasis on education, promotion of innovation and technology, Japan's Total Quality Management (TQM) approach , as well as its strong work ethic and dedication to continuous improvement to enhance its economic growth and development.
During basketball training sessions and academic journey, I was able to work with many good teachers and mentors who had positive influence on my personal development. I learned a lot of life lessons from them, including my English teacher. He has always been encouraging me to set clear goals which will benefit me and the society as a whole. He showed me how to keep the work and life balance while my basketball coach taught me the importance of hard work, tolerance and the importance of little but constant actions which result in better outcomes over a period of time. Even though my tutors were really influential, I must admit that my mother has always been the best thing that could happen to me in every aspect of my life. Her over 20 years of experience as a school teacher allowed her to be helpful when I am making important decions and self-esteem. Without her help, I could never be where I am today.
In conclusion, my experiences studying with people who are two years older than me, playing basketball, and choosing to study economics and meeting the right people have shaped me into the person I am today and still pushing me forward. I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead as an economist and the potential impact that I can have on the world.
