As well as Japaneses participated conquering Korea during World War and before that. Secondly, in the system of education, speaking in Korean was banned, films changed in Japanese and authorities burned over 200.000 Korean historical documents to wipe out historical memory of Korea. Thirdly, their land transformed into Japaneses’ style, 100.000 Japanese families settled in Korea increasing the number of Japanese and cut millions of trees and planted non -native species which Koreans did not know. Next, Korean workers were made to work in Japan in favour of Japan and Korean women were taken to military brothel, this is not only things plundered, their cultural symbols also. Their independently powerful symbol, royal palace, Gyeongbokgung was destroyed. Other outrageous way, Regarding Korean religion Colonical government forced Koreans to worship their gods like dead emperors, spirits It was seen for colonists that Koreans and Japanese were a single. Some families visited shrines there, not prayed it, but, other adopted new religion out of fear. This was the action of them to lose their religion and was easy way to occupate there. Another direction taking control on them was changing their names into Japanese style in order that there could be more people from Japanese. If they did not take Japanese style name they would be shut out of everything from delivery.

Koreans also attemted to be independent and did not want to take domination easily, protest movement from Korean people served to acquire independence and these demonstrations were stopped by the military. As a result, a group of students trying to destroy Japanese army formed. Many Koreans deny speaking Japanese, changing names and other orders Japanese forced. In 1945 United states and USSR took control over Korean peninsula, Japanese rule stopped there. Korea was divided into 2 zones, but, Unified states was not given to Korean independence. South Korea after the world war gave back its rule and prosecuted anybody worked with the collaborator of Japanese and got previous ranking and honour.

Nowadays in order to remember years of training for occupation, they celebrate holiday for independence on the first of March in South Korea. Japan during the war tried to occupate this country fully, but, they could not do that.
