1.To give general information about an opinion and an opinion paragraph.

Explaining what are an opinion and an opinion paragraph by making sentences

2. To familiarise learners with organising a paragraph by using a sample text.

Give information about a topic sentence, supporting details, a concluding sentence. Familiarise them with key words, (First, second, third, finally, in general, however, but) Discuss a text together and show elements of an opinion paragraph.

3. To practise finding an opinion paragraph and resons that the writer gives.

Students find the writer’s opinion and they count how many reasons the writer gives to explain his opinion. They pay attention to key words and say the role of these words in the paragraph. (Exercise A)

4. To teach students how to match the main elements of the paragraph with their functions.

Students think and find sentences from the paragraph that fit the exercise B and put them in the right place. (Exercise B)

5.To teach students how to organise a work plan and make notes.

Students make notes about advantages of digital cameras. (Exercise C)

6. To teach students how to write an opinion paragraph correctly.

Students write the whole opinion paragraph about advantages of digital cameras. They use a topic sentence. supporting details, a concluding sentence and also contrasting opinions. (Exercise D)

8. To consolidate the new topic by making them to write another opinion paragraph.
