Entry part. Today, there are more than a thousand types of helminth disease in the world. According to WHO data, every second person on the planet is infected with one of the three main types of helminths. These are: enterebiasis (1.2 billion), hookworm (900 million) and trichocephalosis (up to 700 million). Today, various synthetic drugs against these helminths have been synthesized. If the rules of taking the drug are followed, their anthelmintic effect will be more effective in destroying helminths and it will be possible to completely cleanse the body of helminths. These anthelmintic drugs are divided into broad-spectrum and narrow-spectrum drugs. Drugs with a narrow range of action include: anticestodosis (-nematode, - trematode) drugs.
Antitestodosis drugs. They are used to affect tape helminths, and these drugs show effectiveness in helminthiasis and extraintestinal intestinal forms. At the first diagnosis, helminths are removed from the body by taking niclosamide, and extraintestinal cestodosis is treated with albendazole.
Antinematodes drugs. Currently, there is a list of anthelminthic drugs used by the doctor treating intestinal nematodes in practice. The following drugs can effectively affect tapeworms: levamisole, piperazine, pyrantel pamoate, bephenia hydroxynaphthoate. Strong drugs for extraintestinal parasites: ivermectin, diethylcarbamazine citrate are recommended.
Antitrematodous drugs. When infected with these helminths, the doctor prescribes the following drugs: in the treatment of intestinal form perchlorethylene, extraintestinal trematodosis is treated with bithionol or khloxil.
Broad-spectrum anthelmintic drugs. Anthelminthic drugs belonging to this group have a broad effect and help to cleanse the body of all types of helminths. Among the anthelminthic drugs of this group, the most effective are: pyrantel, mebendazole, praziquantel.
In addition to the destruction of helminths, the above-mentioned drugs cause various side effects on the body. It is necessary to use other means of drugs with anthelminthics to reduce intoxication of these drugs in the body.
The purpose of the study. Based on the above, the selection of detoxification methods in cases of poisoning with anthelmintic drugs was made as a goal. Detoxification - (lat. de - destruction, elimination + other Greek tínē - poison) - is the process of destruction and neutralization of various toxic substances by chemical, physical or biological methods.
The result. In cases of poisoning from currently used anthelmintic drugs, the doctor recommends the use of chemical detoxification. These are enterosorbents. Among them, Polisorb is one of the best drugs, distinguished by good efficiency, because it removes the remains of the vital activity of helminths and toxins from the intestines, and larvae from the digestive system. The sorbent has bactericidal and astringent properties, so it is widely used with any anthelmintic drugs. Polisorb is used in the treatment of ascariasis, opisthorchiasis, trichuria, giardiasis, amebiasis, capillarosis, enterobiosis and mixed helminthic infestations. It is a universal tool. Alternatively, if allergic reactions occur in children while taking anthelmintic drugs, antihistamine drugs should be used. These include Cetrin, Zyrtec, Claricens or Zodak.
Summary. As a result of the studies, it was found appropriate usage of chemical detoxification method among the detoxification methods in cases of poisoning with anthelmintic drugs.
