In this assignment, you are asked to write a letter answering the following questions on the content of the study materials given in the current subject topic in no less than 150 words.

✅ What are the 3 key concepts that I learnt from the pages?

✅ What are you still unclear of after reading and watching the materials?

✅ How would the content in these study materials affect my future teaching activities as a language teacher?

From this theme I learnt about genres of reading. There are many types of them and while studying or teaching foreign language we should be aware of them. First one is "Academic reading" which contains textbooks, essays and papers. The next is " Job related reading" . Here we can come across to messages, reports and letters. The last one is "Personal reading" which is necessary for ourselves.

And another thing that I have learnt is about types of reading. We should not confuse them with genres. There are four types of reading:

1. Perceptive Reading- alphabetic symbols, capitalized and lowercase letters, punctuatio, words.

2. Selective Reading : 1) Multiple-Choice (form-focused criteria)

2) Matching Tasks

3) Editing tasks

4) Picture-cued tasks

5) Gap-filling tasks

3. Interactive Reading- identify relevant features (lexical, symbolic, grammatical, and discourse) within texts of moderately short length with the objective of retaining the information that is processed.

4. Extensive Reading- extensive reading applies to texts of more than one page up to and including professional articles, essays, technical reports, short stories, and books.
