Off-Island Trip to the Treasure Coast of FL 

Hutchinson Island/Stuart MULTI-DAY RIDE 

Monday April 18 – Wednesday, April 20, 2016 

DESCRIPTION:  We’ll be riding in a bike lane on the road in Hutchinson 

Island - an island east of the small, but charming town of Stuart. There 

is a bike lane (some sidewalks) in both directions from the hotel.  The 

Atlantic Ocean is visible at times and inlet views most of the time.  There 

are numerous restrooms, beach parks and opportunities for viewing or 

resting along the way. One part of the ride south (less than 3 miles) to 

Sailfish Point, there is a narrow 2 lane road, but popular for cyclists with 

great views. 

There are 3 museums within cycling distance that we will have the 

opportunity to explore: 

Elliott Museum – 48,000 sq ft facility.  It houses a unique wracking 

system with robot control to see the 50 antique cars & trucks collection. 

Traveling exhibits, speakers, etc. are scheduled throughout the year. 

House of Refuge – former haven for shipwrecked sailors, now a beautiful 

historical museum. 

FL Oceanographic Coastal Center – 57 acre marine life nature center & 

aquariums.

Directions:  

 

From the FL Turnpike: Exit 142   Turn right at traffic light onto Port St. Lucie Blvd, going east – about 4 miles. Turn right onto US 1.  

Go south 2 miles and turn left on Jensen Beach Boulevard.  At the traffic circle go around, making a left turn, at the next traffic circle, 

go around and straight across the bridge.  At A1A, turn left around the traffic circle, and the Hotel is on right within 1 mile  

From I-95:  Exit 101–Stuart-Indiantown  Make a right going east, on Route 76 (Kanner Hwy) to Monterey.  Turn right on Monterey to 

East Ocean Blvd., and turn right. Continue over both bridges.  Drive north on A1A approximately 5 miles.  The Hotel is on the right
