Subject: Advantages and Disadvantages of the Internet

Plan: 1. History of the Internet.
2. Understanding the Internet.
3. Advantages of the Internet.
4. Disadvantages of the Internet.

The Internet originated from secret research conducted by the US Department of Defense in 1969 to test methods that would allow computer networks to survive military operations through dynamic message redirection. The first such network, including three networks in California and one in Utah, is the ARPAnet, which combines a network with a set of rules called the Internet Protocol (Internet Protocol or IP for short).
In 1972, when universities and research organizations affiliated with the US Department of Defense gained access to this network, it grew into a vast network of over 50 universities and research organizations.
In 1973 this network became international, including networks in England and Norway. Another 10 years later, the Internet Protocol was expanded to include a set of communication protocols (TCP/IP Transmission Control Protocol (Internet Protocol)) that support both LANs and WANs. Shortly thereafter, the National Science Foundation (NSF) created NSFnet to connect the five supercomputing centers. With the introduction of the TCP/IP protocol, this newly created network replaced ARPAnet as the "backbone" of the Internet.
The advent of the World Wide Web (WWW) has become a powerful impetus for the Internet to become popular and develop, including as a business environment. Because this system of hypertexts increased the speed of the Internet and made it intuitive.
The idea of linking documents through hypertext was first proposed by Ted Nelson in 1960. However, the state of computer technology of that time did not allow this idea to be realized.
The basis of the concepts that you and we today perceive as the WWW was created in 1980 by Tim Berners -Lee in the process of creating a hypertext system at the European Particle Physics Laboratory ( European Laboratory for particle Physics , European Center for Nuclear Research). As a result, in 1990, scientists were presented with the first 4-text browser that allows you to view online text files linked by hyperlinks.
In 1991, the browser became available to the general public, but its spread outside of academia has been slow.
A new stage in the development of the Internet began in 1993 with the advent of the first Unix version of the Mosaic graphics browser, developed in 1992 by Mark Andreessen, an intern at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, NCSA, USA.
In 1994, the Mosaic browser for Windows and Macintosh operating systems, followed by Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer caused an explosion in the popularity of the WWW, that is, the popularity of the Internet, first in the United States and then throughout the world.
In 1995, the NSF handed over responsibility for the Internet to the private sector, and it is because of this opportunity that the Internet exists as we know it today.
The most popular Internet services (services) include:
- e-mail;
- search and view text and multimedia information on the World Wide Web (WWW) using a browser (Web browser);
- electronic commerce;
- online conversations (chat, chats);
- conferences (discussion groups, Usenet), where you can publish information and view information provided in response to it;
- role-playing games.
The Internet was perhaps the most outstanding communication innovation in human history. Like every innovation, the Internet has its advantages and disadvantages. However, the magnitude of its advantages far outweigh its disadvantages.
Internet: is a global computer network that provides a variety of information and communication infrastructures, consisting of interconnected networks using standardized communication protocols.
Due to our constant pursuit of more amenities and a higher standard of living, we have been able to invent and discover many new things. With the advent of the internet, our earth has actually shrunk in size and taken on the form of a global village. The Internet can be defined as a network of computers designed to receive and send data in the form of e-mail messages, blogs, webcasts, and so on. Simply put, it can be compared to a super server, with a lot of information that is used by billions of people at the same time. The Internet is a network that connects other, smaller networks. All modern technologies are connected on the Internet. The Internet has become an indispensable business tool. Reception of news from all over the world, access to knowledge resources, and sales networks are just a click away. The Internet has huge potential, service offerings. However, like any other innovation in science and technology, the Internet comes with its own advantages and disadvantages, which will be discussed in this article.
