1)Phonetics- is a branch of linguistics that studies how humans make and perceive sounds,or in the case of sign languages ,the equivalent aspects of sign. Phonetics(from Greek word "phone"-meaning sound, voice and "-tika-" a science) is a special science which studies the phonetic

substance and the expression area of the language or otherwise

the physical media of a language. The definition of phonetics as "the study of the sounds of a language" is not sufficient in modern

linguistics.Phonetics is of great theoretucal and practical value.

Theoretically it is important to study the formation of speech sounds , their combinations, syllables, stress and intonation.

2) Phonology- is the study of the way sounds function in languages, including phonemes syllable structure, stress, accent, intonation, and which sounds are distinctive units within in a language. Phonology is the concerned with the abstract ,whereas phonetics is concerned with the physical properties of sounds.

3)Sound is a form of energy that can be heard and travels in waves. When matter vibrates or moves back and forth very quickly,

a sound is made.

4) A phonema is the smallest unit of the sound in a word, knowing

about phonemas is important for spelling, a phonema may be made up of one or more letter which make one sound

5) Vowel-ina human speech, sound in which the flow of air from the lungs passes through the mouth, which functions as a resonance chamber, whith minimal obstruction and whithout audible friction. The definition of vowel is a letter representing a speech sound made with vocal tract open, specifically the letters A,E,I,U,O.The letter "a" is an example of a vowel.

6) A consonant is defined as a letter in speech where the sound is formed by an interruption of breath by some part the mouth.Examples of consonants are the letters B,P,L,S,T,D and others.Consonant is a speech sound that is articulated with complete or partial closure of the vocal tract. Consonant sounds:/m/,/th/,/zh/,y/ and others.

7) The English language is created through the different combitions of 44 sounds(phonema) 20 vowels and 24 consonants .English alphabet has 26 letters ,made up of consonants and vowels. There are five vowels(a,i,u,e,o) and the rest are all consonants.

8) I am expecting to get knowledge about phonetics and speak like native speakers.
