The article «Cognitive factors in learning: transfer, interference and overgeneralization (in the material of numerous languages)» written in order to explain the role of cognitive factors in learning. Language learning process is considered to be the most discursive topics of our modern society. The author tried to analyze main features of cognitive factors in the example of transfer, interference and overgeneralization. This paper focuses on strong and weak points as well as the language of the article.

In the first section of this article, the author stated that learning a second language is one of the most important issues today. The author describes the word «cognition» as the process of knowing, understanding and learning something and this is one of the strong points of the article.

In the next section of the article, the researcher noted that transfer was a wider concept than other factors. Differences between positive and negative transfer were described with examples in English, French, Uzbek, Korean, Japanese, Russian languages. Another strong point of the article there was given references to prove whose works were used in the article. In the next category, it was explained that interference could be observed in the following sections of the language: phonetics, lexicology and syntax. The researcher proved his/her explanation by comparing words in different languages with tables of examples. Unfortunately, there was given a little examples in field of overgeneralization.

Generally, the language of the article was clear, simple and easy to understand. Ideas and facts were continuously described in sequence.



All in all, we can recognize that with the help of this article we are able to clarify the topic of cognitive factors that are important in the field of studying the second language. We can say that the author has achieved the goal set before writing the article.
