The authors analyze a number of theories of foreign direct investment (FDI) that explain the motivation and conditions for the movement of international entrepreneurial capital. A special attention is paid to the conditions that encourage the transition from exporting goods to creating their own production abroad. In this regard, the experience of the countries of Southeast Asia, the mechanism of action of the flying geese paradigm by K.Akamatsu have been studied, a comparative analysis was carried out in opening own automobile production in the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan.
General patterns, differences and features of this process are revealed, recommendations have been given. The urgent need to improve the existing management system under new conditions has been stressed with a special focus on using the foreign experience based on FDI theories, in particular the “flying gees” paradigm. Particular attention is paid to the outflow of investments and the creation of joint ventures in the neighboring countries of Central Asia, while forming production chains and promoting regional integration.
Large statistical and informational materials on the production activities of the Uzbek automaker, the export of cars and spare parts in 2016-2022, organizational work to open the production of cars in the countries of Central Asia has been presented within this research work.
