The organization and management of CS allows the elderly person to remain as long as possible in his own home, and is grounded in the “Management Code”…

  • The Municipality annually draws up a ban, after that it is drown up a ranking list of the eligible, valid for one year.

The staff are permanent employers of the municipality, and it is composed by the responsible of the structure in the figure of an official of the social services, a social worker coordinator, four home care workers, one of which is the main contact.

The intervention strategy follows the general lines, due to the method “problem solving”, which in turn are adapted to the situation to be faced, with a trend of circolarity that goes from the observation to the recognition, the evaluation and elaboration of an assistance personalized project, to the realization of this project, until the observation of the results and the verification of the same.

In order to better respond to the needs of people, it is necessary that operators should be equipped with more educational than assistance skills, for an act done in social and emotional intelligence: to be a cut above to understand and to be understood in relation to others, which allows to connect knowledges – emotions – actions in the circuit of the helping process.

The difference between the costs incurred and the incomes earned by partnerships of residents, for the year 2012 is of 172.641 euro, which if divided for the number of residents in the same year, leads to get a result of 2.466 euro nearly, for each resident.

The experience of the Social Centre highlights the possibility of different solutions, less costly and socially more acceptable to older people, bringing attention on the results derived from a concrete and solid experience. The Centre demonstrates the valuable role that structures focused on maintaining autonomy at home, can play, recording a decisive and positive impact on quality of life.
