6. CONCLUSÕES Em resumo, os resultados deste trabalho sugerem que as pistas de segurança associadas ao contexto hospitalar possam ter reduzido a aversidade e potencial de ameaça das imagens de procedimentos cirúrgicos. Esta conclusão está embasada em (1) redução da resposta de modulação emocional de bradicardia para estas imagens, com retardo no início e recuperação precoce da bradicardia promovida por estas imagens em comparação às de mutilação (2) redução na desagradabilidade das imagens (medida pela escala SAM) (3) redução do percentual de voluntárias que relatam ter sentido medo intenso e nojo e desconforto para dor (11%, 3,7% e 14,8% respectivamente) para estas imagens em comparação ao bloco de mutilação (22%, 40,7% e 29,7% respectivamente). Além disto, traços individuais de empatia também são importantes para modular a resposta cardíaca a estas imagens. Estudantes de enfermagem com maiores traços de empatia apresentaram maior bradicardia (ou relato avaliativo mais negativo) para as imagens de procedimentos cirúrgicos. Em conjunto, estes resultados indicam que a expressão fisiológica e verbal das respostas emocionais, ao menos na nossa espécie, é bastante variada, flexível e dependente tanto do contexto ambiental quanto de características individuais. 107 REFERÊNCIAS .
