“PROF. GURBAKSH SINGH SCHOLARSHIP” 

 

 



 

1.  There  will be a scholarship  to be known as “Prof. GurbakshSingh 



Scholarship” of the value of 

` 6000/- 



p.a. or the amount of interest fetched by 

the endowment 

` 1 lakh 

 

whichever is less, to be awarded to one meritorious 



student of M.Sc./Ph.D. programme in Biomedical Sciences in Dr. Bhim Rao 

Ambedkar Centre  for Biomedical Centre  belonging to weaker section of the 

society and who may not have the means to pursue higher education.  

2.  The scholarship will be tenable for a period of two years to pursue M.Sc. Course. 

The scholarship will be restricted to one student at a time, which means that the 

scholarship will be awarded in alternate years.  

 

 



 

3.  The Scholarship shall be based on academic merit and interview with an 

additional consideration of the financial needs of the students. The Selection 

Committee shall comprise of the following:-  

 

1.  Director  



2.  One Senior Member of ACBR (Nominated by the Director, ACBR) 

3.  One Expert (Nominated by the Director, ACBR) 

 

4.  No student shall be eligible for the award of this scholarship if he/she already 



holds a scholarship awarded by University of Delhi or any other University or the 

Central  Government or any State Government or any  Private Body  other than 

freeship. In case a  student, who has been awarded this scholarship, 

subsequently accepts any other scholarship/financial assistance from any other 

source, he/she shall be required to discontinue this award or refund the amount 

received by him/her on this account as applicable, except where the total 

fellowship available to the student does not exceed the total annual fees 

(including examination fees and other charges) charged by ACBR. 

 

5.  The scholarship will be renewed for the second year subject to the condition that 



the student passes the M.Sc. Part I examination in the first attempt.  

 

6. 

If it should  appear at any time during the tenure of the scholarship  that scholar 

has failed to make satisfactory progress or has been found guilty of  gross 

misconduct or has been irregular in attendance it shall, after due warning in 

writing to the student, be reported by the Director, ACBR to the University, who 

may reduce, suspend or withdraw the scholarship.
