The World Music Awards is an international music award presented annually in Monte Carlo since 1989. It is awarded to performers based on the results of global sales of their audio recordings based on data from the International Federation of Phonogram Producers. The show's executive producer and co-writer is John Martinotti. The ceremony is held under the patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco. The ceremony is broadcast in Europe, North and South America, Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, covering more than 160 countries worldwide. Media coverage of the show is mainly provided by third-party companies.
