I like reading because I learn a lot of interesting things from books. But most of all I like 

adventure stories.  

My favourite book is «The Adventure of Tom Sawyer» by Mark Twain. It is a story about an 

American boy and his friends. Tom is inventive and brave. He is always full of ideas. He has a 

lot of adventures on the Mississippi River.  

The book teaches us to be kind and friendly, honest and brave, to be a true friend. I really 

enjoyed the book.

In Uzbekistan we cook special food for each holiday. For example, we cook sumalak at Navruz 

holiday. Sumalak is a special food which is cooked only in Navruz. Besides sumalak, somsa, 

halim is also cooked on that day. On December  

31 before the New Year, cake and salads are prepared. It’s impossible to imagine weddings 

without palov and soup in Uzbekistan. As you see, we have different food for each holiday.
