1. DESCRIBE A SPECIAL DAY OUT THAT COST YOU LITTLE MONEY/ DIDN’T COST YOU MUCH Let me tell you about a special occasion which cost far less than I had expected. A couple of weeks ago, while sitting at lyceum, out of nowhere I just wanted to spend time with my buddies. You know Because of my hectic schedule, it was also a long time I hadn't spent quality time with my close friends. So once I got off lyceum that day at around 6pm, I headed home and told my mom, dad and my siblings that we were going out and asked them to get dressed immediately. They got very excited about it. So first we had several options to go. But the best one was large newly opened shopping center just near our residential area. Instead of driving there, we decided to take a walk. It was approximately 20min walk. So got there. The shopping center was so big tha`t you could find anything you could possibly imagine there On the first floor, there were dozens of clothes shops of brand companies which were offering 30 up to 50 %discounts. Prices were quite reasonable. We bought some outfits. And we went upstairs to the second floor which was entertaining area. There we tremendously enjoyed playing different game-consols, watching movies, then hit the bowling. Not only that we had dinner on the third floor in a posh restaurant together. Having paid for everything, I checked my wallet to get to know how much I spent. You can't believe that I only spent $50 dollars overall for such a wonderful day #speaking_sample_answer #Part2 2. Well the city I love and would definitely recommend others to go and live would be San Francisco in The USA For several reasons I fell in love with this large and bustling city which is famous for its Golden Gate bridge. Well last year I was freshman at University and I participated in Work and Travel program which allowed me to spend my summer holiday in San Francisco. What appealed me the most was that standard of living there was very high. No problem with employment. Not only did I travel there but I could also earn a good living. First off, you know it's got enormous outside space where people can do all kinds of activities and sports. Secondly, it's got contemporary facilities/amenities for people to make use of. Maybe because of these particular reasons many locals have made a habit of going there to do sports. As far as I am concerned, More often than not I also pay a visit to this stadium with my buddies to do some physical exercise in order to stay fit and healthy. As some famous athletes go there for training every now and then, I have a great chance to see them in the flesh Speaking of its popularity, I'd say, in Uzbekistan almost everyone knows this stadium. This is due to the fact that we only have Bunyodkor stadiums •. We don't have other competitive football stadiums unfortunately. But I am quite sure in years to come, we will have more such huge sports centres as our government has embarked on paying closer attention to the development of sports in our country in recent years 27
You know what I had to go to work that day. Although it was my birthday, my employer didn't give me a day off when I asked one day before. I was taken aback by that. It seemed to me that my employer was prioritizing the work over my once-a-year birthday. Yeah I was a bit let down. The worst of all, the idea of quitting my job even crossed my mind at some point. But Thank God as I was not financially ready to cover my expenses until I found another job, I changed my mind about that. So I went to work reluctantly that day. But it turned out that there as another surprise waiting for me. I vividly remember As I got into our open-plan office, more than 20 colleagues of mine who were standing with a big cake, different colorful balloons started singing a birthday song all together. I was close to tears out of happiness you know. Everyone started congratulating me one by one. And the last one was my employer who gave me a closed envelope as a present with money inside. You know It was just what the doctor ordered. Coz as my parents were on a tight budget at that time. 28
So one day As a group of frogs was traveling through the woods, two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs gathered around the pit and saw how deep it was, they told the two frogs that there was no hope left for them. However, the two frogs decided to ignore what the others were saying and they started to try to jump out of the pit. Despite their efforts, the group of frogs at the top of the pit were still saying that they should just give up. That they would never get out there Eventually, one of the frogs believed in what the others were saying and he gave up trying. The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally managed to get out. When he got out, the other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?' The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time. So Moral of the story is People's words can have a big effect on others lives. That's why We should always think about what we say before it comes out of our mouth. We need to bear in mind that There is nothing more powerful than words 29

So now getting back to a photo I took and take a pride in, it is the one I took about 4 years ago in one of our family gatherings in our house. Actually my extended family has a tradition of having reunions once every two or three months. So it was one of such days that day. So while every one was there, grabbing a great dinner, catching up one another having fun overall, I was taking shots of different moments randomly. Actually although all the photos I captured were good, the picture which was one of a kind was the one where you can see practically all members of my family talking to each other with a big smile on their face. There even you can see my grandmother who passed away last year. I think It was the last picture of her with us. Actually I have had this photo framed and put it on my desk. Whenever I look at it and see my close-knit family, I have a sense of pride. All in all, I would say it is the photo that has sentimental value for me 31 More often than not, I am up to my neck in my studies and work staff. But a couple of weeks ago I had some time on my hands and decided to spend it with my family, namely my mum and my dad watching some kind of film together. Simply because I thought it would be the best way to recharge my battery. First we had several options but I opted for my all-time favourite film called "Mask". Truth be told, I have lost count how many times I watched this film. It is a fantastic comedy film which became a box office hit once it came out. The central character is Jim Carrey, one of the globally popular and a highly accomplished actors. If my memory serves me right, this film was nominated for Oscar award once. When it come to the plot of the film, it is about a super unlucky man who always tries to do smth but messes up at the end of the day. One day he finds a miracle mask by chance and it changes his life completely. Briefly speaking, He then starts to experience different funny situations in his life. You know Whenever I watch this film, it seems like I am watching it for the first time. You can't imagine how much I enjoy watching it. That day also we couldn't help laughing till the end of the film. As it is worth watching over and over again, I would like to watch it one more time but this time with my friends. Surely It is gonna be different with them. 32
There were many travel agencies. But we didn't know which one could give us detailed information about popular tourist destinations, budget hotels there and more importantly help us to find such kind of tour package that would fit our budget Yeah we really wanted to have all-inclusive holiday coz we didn't want to bother ourselves with accommodation, food staff during our trip whatsoever. As the idea of going to every travel agency in person and ask for information was virtually impossible, we decided to find out more about their services on the Internet So I started looking at some popular tour providers and websites like makemytrip booking.com. Along the way I even checked out some tourist traps to avoid. Other than that I found some websites where I could read reviews, comments of other tourists about their recommendations for food and places there in Turkey So overall I discovered tonnes of information thanks to searching engines like Google and Yahoo. And that information was more than enough to enjoy our trip to the fullest. To put it simply, I found what I was looking for. 33
So today, I would like tell you about one of my all-time favourite programs called "The apprentice" which is an American reality television program that judges the business skills of a group of contestants. It has overall 8 seasons. And it's first season came out back in 2012. There are somewhere around 12 episodes in each season. So speaking of its plot, there are usually 10 participants from different walks of life, who compete against one another to get the job which offers six-figure salary in the final. In each episode, they are assigned a task to complete with a tight deadline At the end of the day, the one who fails to accomplish the task or misses the deadline leaves the show. This show is so intriguing that it keeps me on the edge of my seat Sometimes I even end up binge-watching it. Not only is it entertaining but it is also educational. Coz I learnt a lot about business sphere from it. So If you haven't watched it I would highly recommend you to watch it. It is definitely worth watching more than once 34
One day while surfing the Net one advert popped up which was about very fluffy luxurious sofa. Actually a couple of days before my mom had been talking about changing our sofa to new one For this reason that ad caught my attention. Then I started to find out more clicking the link on that promotion. They was a wide range of its colours such as white, black and grey. And Its price was also quite reasonable $150 which would fit my budget. Overall I like it So I made up my mind to buy for my mother's birthday which was approaching that time. I thought it would be a great present for her. However before ordering ft, I don't know why I just wanted to show Its picture to my mum and choose the colour. When she saw it She liked it very much and she was super excited. Afterwards I decided to order, but you know what happened they told me to pay overall $200 including delivery fee. I was taken aback by that cost first-because it was too much for me. As you may have predicted I was faced with dilemma. On the one hand I had already informed my mum about ft on the flip side It was over budget. But anyway I had no other choice but to buy it although it somehow cost me the earth. So It was delivered to my house after 3days. All in all as I have learned my lesson from that experience. Next time I am gonna be very careful with buying smth online 35 By nature I am a generous, open-handed person. However, having said that I have also become cautious about sharing my staff with others after one situation that must have happened 3 years ago Actually there are some ground rules set by my father in our family. One of them has to do with mobile phones. That is to say, noone is allowed to have a phone until they turn at least 12. But Back in 2019, my sister who was around 15, decided to learn English language by attending a study centre. And my parents also agreed with that. But as best you know learning any language requires a learner to have a dictionary to translate new words right. Text book dictionaries are not a good option at all coz they can be a bit time-consuming. Whereas the most commonly preferred one is apps on mobile phones. They are way more comfortable and time-saving. Although she was young not even 16, She badly needed a phone. Given her situation, my father told me to share my phone with her only those days when she had a lesson. First I was a bit reluctant to share my phone with her. But I didn't have any other option but to share it. First couple of times seemed to be fine. But one day she came with broken screen of my phone. I barely calmed myself down. I got it fixed at my father's expenses Then even worse, one day she came home quite disappointed and told us they she delated everything on my phone by chance. You know it was almost the archive of my life. There used to be my photos, videos and things like that from the past. You can't imagine how irritated I got that day. Yeah I lost my temper. I got my phone back immediately and never gave it back. So that was the time when I shared smth with someone and learnt my lesson 36 Let me tell you about my brand-new mobile phone - Samsung S22 Ultra that I find truly beautiful. I got it about 2 months ago. Before that actually It was one of my biggest dreams to have such kind of premium phone. As it cots a fortune, not everyone can afford it. Truth be told I also bought it on credit. It has great features, fantastic cameras and a deliciously good screen Speaking of it design, I would say it is second to none. It is pitch black with sharp corners. As it is premium class phone, it gives you a sense of richness while using it. It also stands out from the rest of phones in terms of its top-notch performance, capable cameras. When I use multiple apps at the same, it doesn't freeze at all. It's high refresh rate gives me a silky smooth scrolling experience On top of that all the photos taken with it come out high quality. I would say nowadays none of the phones even iPhones cannot compete with Samsung S22 ultra in terms of camera. Many bloggers here in Tashkent use also this phone to create a content on Social media. It is so attractive that when I use it in the street, virtually everyone looks at me. Last but certainly not least. If you're looking for a phone that can last all day, this is the phone you should buy. It has 5,000 mAh which is more than enough for a day. So If you choose to buy the Galaxy S22 Ultra, it’s definitely a decision you won’t regret. 37 Let me tell you about the time when I completely forgot my appointment with my girlfriend whom I had fallen in love with. It was back in 2019 just before we started dating regularly. We decided to meet in our as usual park at 6:00 pm after a couple of days On the appointed day, however,I had a severe toothache from the morning. I suffered from unbearable pain and I was fighting with the pain almost the whole day. I took a painkiller and it somewhat controlled my pain. As some time passed, the pain seemed to go away somehow. Then I was comfortably sitting in my living room scrolling through my social media profiles after the relief of pain. BUT all of a sudden I remembered my appointment with her and I leapt out of the couch and checked the time, it was already 5:30 pm. I chose to drive the car in order to get there as quickly as possible And then to top it all, on the halfway, there was an accident causing gridlock. Yeah I got stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for almost 1 hour. It goes without saying that this caused me to be very late. I felt deeply ashamed. I made a phone call to her and apologized. She seemed to be bitterly disappointed, she didn't want to listen to me at all first. Then I explained what had happened. To make it up to her, I then treated her to dinner in a fancy restaurant. Thank God, then she started to understand me somehow Yeah overall that was the time when an appointment with my significant other totally slipped my mind 38 Well... actually I am blessed with a large circle of childhood friends who are always there for me. To be more precise we are 8 childhood friends. We still keep in touch with each other. Every now and then we get together and reminisce about our school periods So right now If I were to choose one of them to talk about more, I would probably talk about Mehroj who used to be also my nextdoor neighbor back in the days. We have known one another for more than 20 years. Back in my childhood I used to play with him outside even before we went to school for the first time. We had a lot in common. He used to love math and physics at school and so did I. Just before the exams, we would prepare together in our house and pass the exams with flying colours. On top of that we both were keenly interested in foreign languages such as English. We used to practice our speaking skills discussing various topics We did also a lot of crazy stuff together as far as I remember. As far as his personality is concerned, he had and still has a great sense of humour. Whenever I am with him, for the most part I can't help laughing because of his funny jokes. He is also very open-handed. As a matter of fact, he comes from wealth family. There were times you know when I was on a tight budget, he backed me up financially. 39 Well.. over the course of my life, I have attended different teachers' lessons that were at school , University or extra courses. But the one I precisely recall was at the study centre. So back in 2019, I was looking for an English course to take my English language to the next level, and one day a fried of mine suggested his study centre he was attending. So I went there and attended the first free trial lesson As far as I remember the teacher was female in her late twenties or something like that You know Although she was young I mean not that old, she seemed to have a natural talent for teaching because you know she delivered the lesson in such a way that she could draw the attention of all the students to the class everyone attended the class actively. On top of that she was also very clear in her explanation. If my memory serves me right the grammar topic that was explained that day was Relative clause. The teacher gave us very detailed information about it, its usage, types such as Defining relative clause and Non-defining Relative clause and so on.Thanks to that lesson, I learnt this topic perfectly well that day By the way we also played a couple of games related to the language such as word game. That one lesson was so informative, interactive and interesting that 80 minutes passed in the blink of an eye. Yeah I would call it a lesson which was well worth attending 40 I am sure that nobody likes waiting. But Almost everyone has experienced it at least once in their lives. As for me I don't like the people who keep me waiting for them. As I don't like waiting , I always do my level best to be punctual and get things done on time. But this is the life sometimes we have to just wait and in such cases we don't have any other choices. It happened to me also approximately 4 years ago when I took an IELTS exam. By the exam, I had put a lot of energy and effort to prepare. Because I desperately needed high score as it was one of the essential requirements of the University I was applying to. That day came I took the exam but as u know results are released within 2weeks. Those 2 weeks felt like 2 years. I waited for my results so impatiently that I couldn't think of anything. I even lost my appetite didn't want to eat anything because my that results would decide my study. Seeing my situation, my mom came up to me and told me to relax and try to distract myself with others. And She told me also that there was no point in just thinking about it all day. Yeah she was right and I made up my mind to just wait not to think about it. Franky speaking it wasn't easy for me. Finally 14 days passed I immediately went to the test center to get my certificate. Thank God I passed the exam with flying colours and got the band I was aiming for. Speaking of such kind of moments, I would say they make us more patient and stronger than before 41 I would like to talk about a person who comes from a different culture. This person is Lucy who is one of my intimate friends. She comes from Malaysia. Well, If I'm not mistaken, for the first time, we got to know each other three years ago, on one of the popular speaking applications, that was just an amazing experience. In fact, from the very beginning, she left a great impression on me. Coz, She had a fantastic
Then one day I asked her to help me out to brush up on my spoken English, and you know what ? To my great surprise, she didn't reject me. I suppose that's mainly because she's so curious about different cultures/traditions. Yeah, that was my lucky day somewhat. Then we picked up one topic every single day, and we discussed it together thoroughly in English. This way, not only did I improve my spoken English, but I also enhanced my argumentation skills in English. That was great. Now, As far as her personality/character is concerned, I'd say she is extroverted and down to earth. Other than that, as she is so into a variety of cultures, I can safely say that she is culturally sophisticated. All in all, this is the person I know who comes from a different culture. 42 Over the course of my life, I have played a number of sports, including judo boxing you name it But after COVID 19 pandemic, I have become way more health-conscious. I mean I started putting my health above anything. Until recently, I used to hit the gym 3 times a week on a regular basis to stay fit and healthy . But approximately 2 weeks ago, I wanted to do smth totally different. Instead of training in the gym, I just wanted to exercise outside. I don't know why maybe I wanted to get closer to nature. And luckily, there was a newly opened park not too far from my home. So I called one friend of mine and went to that park together. You know there was an open area which was full of grass. People from all walks of life were sitting and relaxing over there. There was also a jogging track so firstly we did jogging for a while. It really helped us to warm up our bodies. As the park had some gym equipment installed, we did some workout without paying any charge. Truth be told, I really liked this aspect of the park because I didn’t have to spend any money. I mean there was no membership fee like in the gym.
Inspiration is something that motivates us to be better and do better.Different things inspire different people. There is so much inspiration in this world and I think it’s crucial we know what inspires us Back in the days, I used to be painfully shy and had a fear of speaking in front of others. But One day in my first academic year at University, I attended one masterclass conduct by one phenomenally successful businessman called Murod Nazarov. The thing that captured my attention from the get-go was his confidence. You know he was so self-assured that he could draw the attention of whole audience to himself. I really admired the way he spoke, conducted himself. Yeah that was smth that inspired me to work on boosting my confidence from that day. I started finding out ways to build up confidence, develop my public speaking skills on the Internet, I also read a couple of books from cover to cover about it. I knew deep down inside that slowly but surely I could speak like him. As time progressed, I started to speak with confidence first in my circle of friends then in front of other people I didn't know. So know Thank God, I am totally different. I am people person, enjoy talking to others. I attribute my self-confidence to the inspiration I got from that business magnet 44 Now I'm going to talk a recreational place in Tashkent where I'd highly recommend visiting, especially for tourists. This is actually an amusement park which is called "Magic City". This park has been newly built with impressive looks I'm pretty sure that tourists will be impressed by this park for some reasons. First of all, it's only one in the central Asia which makes it really distinctive, and it's been designed in such a way that you feel like you are in a fictional story. It's got actually a fantasy town in which you can find fairytale castles, colorful houses, shops, cafes and restaurants. It could be a bit difficult to imagine without seeing it in real time, I suppose. One more thing that I have to mention is ''magical fountain" inside the park. It's stunningly beautiful. When tourists visit, they'll see and get surprised with that for sure. It creates an amazing atmosphere where holiday-makers can tremendously enjoy, chill out and recharge their batteries. Most importantly, just near this park, pocket-friendly accommodation can be also found, which means tourists do not need to worry about the place to stay. Yeah in general, I would say this magic city has a lot to offer and an excellent place to visit for tourists. 45 Well arguments are a very common part of our life, and sadly every now and then they can be one of the primary reasons for the breakdown of relationships between loved ones So about 3 years ago back in 2019, I got into an argument with a friend of mine Nurali. Actually as you know at that time virtually the entire world was experiencing the global Pandemic created by COVID 19. So I and my two friends were in my house just discussing about ongoing situation and the weather lockdown should be imposed or not. My friend Mehroj said it was the only way to bring down the cases and take over the situation. But I disagreed with his viewpoint and said, As far as I remember, if a lockdown were imposed, it would lead to a huge loss to our the economy of our country, and many families would lose their livelihood, namely their source of income and eventually go hungry. He went against my this Idea then. And we both started presenting facts, figures and whatnot. As the argument went on, we even you know began raising our voice at each other. But Thank God My second friend who was just listening to us, started to interrupt us. But I know it wasn't easy because we already got too emotional I remember we weren't listening to him at all at first. But then he started explaining that we were arguing over almost nothing and our discussion would have no impact on the situation. Actually he was right we then stopped calmed down and apologized to each other 46 First off thank you very much for giving me such a chance to talk about my mother who has green fingers. Well She is in her late forties and works as an account in one of the international organizations here in Tashkent. For the most part, she is up to her neck in work. Having said that she manages to find time for her interests. She is a big fun of planting flowers. We live in an apartment block and there is a big balcony in which she keeps most of her flowers. And you can also see different colourful plants in pots on the windowsills of every room. In her leisure time, she mostly looks after her plants, flowers. And you know what she treats her every plant like her child. Every now and then She goes to the market to bring some kind of stuff like fertilizer so that her plants grow very well. It goes without saying that she tremendously enjoys spending her time on her plants And I am also quite happy with her this hobby. That’s because once I asked her why she was so obsessed with plants. And she told me that when she gets in touch with nature through her plants somehow, she can improve her wellbeing. On top of that, she said not only can indoor plants enhance the overall appearance of our house, but they may also boost her mood, reduce stress and fatigue and clean indoor air by absorbing toxins. Having heard these benefits, I have come to realize that she does something that is tremendously useful for our family overall 47 Fashion is something we deal with everyday. One thing is certain that the fashion industry is one of the fast changing industries around the globe. We are constantly being bombarded with new fashion ideas from music, videos, movies and television. I do believe that they have a big impact on what people wear. And I feel like it is good to follow fashion as long as you don't become a victim of it So now let me tell you about my elder sister who is concerned as a fashion icon by a lot of her friends. She is famous for her sense of style . She usually keeps up with the latest fashion and each season, she seems to have a new appearance. Everyone believes that my sister has an eye for fashion, therefore they often ask her for some advice. She loves the classic style, which means her fashion is simple but it turns out to be stylish all the time. Her motto is " Simple is the best. But the way she mixes colours makes people admire. As she gets bored with her clothes ver quickly, she goes shopping for clothes I guess at least once every month. I also like the fact that she doesn't mind where clothes come from. If they look good on her, she buys them. So as you can see she does care about her appearance. She once told me very smart saying " we don't get a second chance to make the first impression" which is 100% true. All in all this is the person who I know as a fashionista 48 Quite recently while surfing the net, I came across one documentary on plastic waste. I don't know why but I really wanted to watch it. But Truth be told, I got shocked by the facts and information shown there. Because researchers and environmentalists in the documentary showed an insane amount of plastic waste along the coastline in Thailand. That was unbelievable, especially for me. Coz that's the very first time when I saw an enormous amount of plastic waste. There were billions of small, broken pieces of plastic bottles, straws and containers. And everywhere was unpleasantly and disgustingly filthy. As the reporter said even the plastic waste was emitting an unpleasant smell. Unfortunately, it was said locals put all plastic waste into one place and they either burn it or dump it into the ocean. But you know It's so detrimental to the environment. Coz, when people burn plastics, greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere. That can lead to bad air pollution. On top of that when people throw plastic waste into the ocean, dozens of marine animals can accidentally eat tiny little pieces, like, microplastic. By eating them, they could become sick and eventually they may die. This may push them to the verge of extinction at the end of the day. This is happening because lack of people's awareness about environmental problems
49 Honestly speaking, I love the place I am living these days. Because It is well equipped and well furnished. There is everything I need. Despite this, I do love one of my friends' apartment in the skyscraper which is located in the beating heart of our city. It has 51 storeys. I try to visit his house every now and then A friend of mine bought a flat on the 48th floor of that high rise building back in 2019 and invited me to his new apartment. To tell the truth, my jaw dropped to the floor when I saw the wonderful panoramic view of our city at night from the top floor. It was out of this world. Then I decided to have my flat there. Rooms are specious and have high ceilings. No to mention the facilities created outside for the residents of the building such as parking space in the basement, shopping center on the ground and first floor of the building. The best of all, this building is located just near the Tashkent city park, it is approximately 5 mins walk away from there. If I can make my dream come true and buy a flat there in the immediate future I will hopefully go for a walk with my family namely wife and son there from time to time. But it is not gonna be easy to own a flat there, because the price of flats is total rip-off. However We have our own family business and If it does well, I think It will take around 2 years or so to save up enough money to buy a flat there 50
But one day while surfing the Net, one banner ad got my attention it was ex-ielts examiner Simon's online writing course which was around $350. You know, at that time did want to get 7+ for my writing which would be tough challenge for me. I bought the course without giving second thought.I watched his video lessons where he provided a bunch of super useful tips. This time also I wrote over 50 essays and have them checked by Simon. I tried to act on his constructive feedback. Once I was quite confident , I decided to retake the exam. This time I gave it my best shot. And my sleepless nights and much effort paid off, Thank God this time I got 7.5 from writing. You can't imagine how blissfully happy I was once I saw my result. If it hadn't been for Simon and his practical advice and support, I wouldn't have achieved what I was aiming for. Download 50.97 Kb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
