  1. How assessment affects the learning process?

Assessment affects students’ grades, placement, curriculum progress and enrichment, instructional needs, and even school resources and funding. Assessments must address teaching for understanding through authentic activities that promote higher order thinking and construction of knowledge. assessments can play a crucial and positive role in supporting successful learning.
Quality assessments can

  • Improve long-term recall for students

  • Inform instruction or curriculum

  • Provide evidence of learning

  • Provide the opportunity to reduce test anxiety in students and help build content mastery

  1. Effectiveness of using questionnaires and interviews on the process of language learning?

Questionnaires are often used to examine people’s attitudes, beliefs and behaviours in language learning and teaching. The data we get from questionnaire research can be especially insightful and satisfying when patterns emerge from a large number of respondents, when apparent differences or similarities are found among groups, or when relationships are ascertained among variables. As researchers, we feel empowered when we make recommendations for learning and teaching if the pattern we find is not only salient and strong, but also attested on a large scale.
