About the national database of legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Lex.uz The national database of legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Lex.uz (hereinafter Lex.uz) is the main legal information resource of the state in the field of law and legal informatization, the only official electronic resource that publishes all legislative acts adopted in the Republic of Uzbekistan. One of the main tasks of the National Center for Legal Information "Adolat" is to ensure the use of Lex.uz, the official publication of normative legal acts, their categorized accounting and the maintenance of control copies in electronic form. This information resource is publicly available and does not require additional registration. Lex.uz was introduced on the basis of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of August 5, 2000 No. 304 “On measures to improve the systematization of legislation and regulate the dissemination of legal information” and was officially launched on May 1, 2007. Furthermore, in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated December 31, 2009 No. 340 “On measures to ensure the widespread use of the national database of legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, in order to ensure the widespread use of texts of legislative documents by legal entities and individuals, in order to create additional conditions for disseminating legal information to the population using modern means of information and communication technologies, from January 1, 2010, free access to Lex.uz was introduced for all users. Currently, Lex.uz is the only information and legal system in our country that allows you to use normative legal acts free of charge via the Internet. In accordance with Article 17 of the Law “On the Dissemination of Legal Information and Ensuring Access to It”, from September 25, 2017, Lex.uz received the status of an official resource on which normative legal acts are published. In accordance with Article 39 of the Law “On Normative Legal Acts”, the national database of the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan is one of the official sources where the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, resolutions of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Decrees and resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers, normative legal acts of ministries, state committees and departments, decisions of local government bodies. Moreover, according to Article 29 of the Law “On International Treaties of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, the national database of the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan is the official source of publications of international treaties of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Lex.uz has a number of advantages over other sources: firstly, documents are not only published on Lex.uz, but also entered and processed electronically, which makes them more convenient for users, allowing them to use them as an electronic resource, copy, quickly and easily switch to other documents via links given in the documents; secondly, amendments and additions made to the legislation are promptly updated, while providing links to documents on the basis of which amendments and additions were made allows users to view and compare previous and subsequent editions; thirdly, as additional information, details are indicated on regulatory legal acts that have reference norms, which indicate the presence of links or certain gaps in the database, that is, a link is given to them, and the user simultaneously gets acquainted with both the law and the bylaw; fourthly, the presence in the database of a search engine for various categories of documents, including legislative branches, makes it easier for users to find the necessary documents. Nowadays, Lex.uz, besides the texts of legislative acts in the Uzbek, Russian and Latin alphabets, judicial acts, international treaties of the Republic of Uzbekistan, there are also court documents, contracts, agreements, treaties, powers of attorney, corporate documents, personnel documents, samples of applications, petitions, notarized documents. Lex.uz also has an electronic version of official publications, such as the Collection of Legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Collection of International Treaties of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the user has the opportunity to get acquainted with these publications. In addition, the database contains translations into English of normative legal acts affecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens and business entities, as well as important for foreign investors, the scope of which is expanding.
