Basic (general) geography.
Special geigraphy (country studies), which studies certain countries.
Among the issues studied by the Department of economic geography of this particular
geography were such indicators as population composition ,marriage, food consumed, income,
transaction level, crafts, trade relations, customs from birth to death, political system, cities. But
for long periods of time and even after it, the geography of the population was not established as
a separate area of Geographical Science.
Only by the 19th century did anthropogeogarphy appear, first in Germany and later from
the West to other countries. The founder of anthropogeogarphy was the German geographer
Fridriz Rassek (1844-1904), a direction that was based on the geographer's bulgar-mathematician
consensus of gettertinism and tried to explain that from the influence of natural conditions in
population geography. The drift of the XIX century at the beginning of the XX century in
Western Europe (mainly in France) also arises a direction called Human Geography. French
geographers T.Widan (1869-1930) were the founders of this direction. This direction is also
based not on the real laws of the development of society in explaining the issues of population
geography, but on the consensus of bourgeois philosophy, political, economic and Taihi.
Nomoyondas of this direction were engaged not only in the study of the relationship and
relations between nature and society, between nature and the population on a scientific basis, but
also in the study of the interaction and influence of a separate person with nature on each other.
That is why they called the name of their science the geography of man, not the geography of the
population. Until the 20th century, there were very few large scientific works related to
geography to the CIS countries. Because population geography was not even established as a
special branch of geography. A special place in this period is occupied by the works of
Alexander Avanovich Voeynov (1842-1916) about the father-child Pyotr Petrovich Semyonov
Petrovich Setronov Tanishansky (1870-1942). P.P. Semyonov-Tanshansky at the end of the XIX
century geographically populated and populated areas of Russia, performed several works. In
his work “population density in the European part of Russia for reasons of the distribution of the
population of the Empire”, which came out in 1871, he made a detailed and meaningful analysis
of the population density card. In 1863-1885 P.P.Semyonov Tianshansky compiled a
"geographical statistical dictionary".
The dictionary gave a characteristic to all cities, stations and large villages of Russia. He
was the first to give Russian villages a detailed sosial-economic characteristic, dividing them
into 27 types. Especially noteworthy is his work” Muraevenenaya vokost " (1880). This was the
first experiment in the work on the transformation of the population and rural settlements with
the help of complex geographical enepedices, during which the population in Russia and foreign
countries at that time was somewhat higher in terms of their scientific level among the work
done. As you know. P.P.Semyonov-Tianshansky was the main organizer of the multi-roof
publication “full geographical image of our Russian motherland” (1899-1814). In this olor, the
inhabitants of different parts of Russia and the settlements of the population gave a wide place to
the harakteristics. The son of Pyotr Petrovich Semyonov-Tianshansky Veniamin Petrovich
Semyonov-Tianshansky also gave great recognition to the study of the population in their work.
Especially his work” the city and the village in European Russia " (1910) is notable for its wealth
of information and some new approaches from scientific analysis. Later (1922-1925) V.P.Under
the leadership of Semyonov-Tianshansky, a population density card of the European part of
Russia, consisting of 46 sheets, was drawn up (dosimetric card). At that time, such a card was
not made in any other country. Among the previously published works on population geography,
the famous geographer Alexander Ivanovich Vosikov occupies a special place in his works the

most important thing is that A.I.In his work, Voyekov did not succumb to the influence of
antrpogeography. He showed an example of a lively, interesting geoghrafic definition of nature
and population in such works as” distribution of the population of the globe according to natural
conditions and activities of people “(1906),” the hustle and bustle of the villages of European
Russia and Western Siberia " (1909).
