Aims: Educational: – to learn new vocabulary to describe a classroom Developing: – to practice giving oral instructions Socio-cultural: – to raise awareness of the formation of plurals in English. Linguistic competence: At the end of the lesson pupils will be able to say,ask and answer questions about the classroom.
Type of the lesson: Lessons of communication of new knowledge; Lessons of fixation of knowledge and of developing skills and abilities

Procedure of the lesson
1Organizational moment: a)Greeting: - Good morning

b)checking up the pupils` attendance and working with the pupils on duties
Asking the weather: What’s the weather today?
P: It’s a sunny day
What season is it now?
P: It’s spring now
T: Do you know about other forecasts of weather?
PP: Yes, it’s rainy, it’s windy, it’s cloudy...
Activity 1. To warm up by singing the song and sing it. “In my classroom”

There are windows and the door. We have English and computers.
We have a blackboard. We learn art and botany.
It is square. We have history and geography
And some pictures on the wall. Oh my classroom, you‘re my home!
2 The the main part of lesson: Description of the new lesson:Explain the new theme to pupils and to do activities of thelesson.
Activity 2a.Match the classroom things and words.
Objectives:to revise vocabulary related to the classroom; to enable match the words with objects;to introduce irregular plurals

Teacher says: pupils look at the picture and match the words with objects.






Answer key: 1c, 2f, 3d, 4a, 5e, 6g, 7b
Teacher writes on the board: a door – doors, a map – maps, a whiteboard – whiteboards, a computer – computers, a marker – markers, a portfolio – portfolios Ask the pupils what they have noticed. Elicit that plural form of nouns are formed by adding “s”.

Activity 2b Listen and repeat.
Objective: to develop listening and pronunciation skills
The pupils to listen to the DVD and repeat the words from 2a.
Activity 3 Write the labels and put them on things in the classroom.
Objectives: to practise writing the new vocabulary; to enable pupils to match words with objects
Pupils to work in groups The pupils must write names of objects on the cards and stick them and use the words they learnt previously e.g. a chair, a table, a wall etc. use the words they learnt previously e.g. a chair, a table, a wall etc. Teacher asks the pupils following questions: 1) Where is the cat?
Pupils answer:The cat is on the chair.The cat is at the chair.The cat under the chair. The cat is in the bag.
3 Consolidition:Activity 4 Picture dictation.
Objective: to practise writing the new vocabulary
Teacher says: Divide the class into groups of 3/4. Each group draws a classroom on a sheet of paper and keeps it a secret. Group A must dictate their description to Group B. Group B must listen and draw. e.g. There are 2 windows. There is a big table. There are 6 desks. There is a map on the wall.
Then Group B must dictate their description to Group A. Ask them to compare their drawings.
Activity 5 Read and match.
Objective: to read for detailed information
Ask the pupils to read the text and match.

Answer key: 1b; 2c; 3a
4.Evalution:Marking the pupils.
5.Homework: Pupils should complete the sentences about their classroom and to revise new words
