Thus, it can be said that feminine terms have been used to express social roles with low status, resulting in semantic inconsistencies in pairs of words such as tiger-tigeress. When referring to nouns denoting a secondary (common) gender, we use this or that pronoun (he, his / she, her) according to the gender of the referent (friend, individual, student). However, if the gender of the referent is unknown, masculine pronouns are usually used. Each novelist aims to make a single novel of the material he has been given. Each individual is thus the recipient of the accumulated culture of the generations which have preceded him. In the following example, the gender of the speaker is not clear, so the term masculinity is used in a general sense: The lack of a specific formal motivation for women and men also indicates that the gender issue has not yet been adequately studied in Uzbek linguistics. In most cases, women are referred to as "Nazira opa" and men as "Komil aka". Older women are referred to as "aunts and uncles", while men are referred to as "dads, uncles". However, if we translate these words into Russian or English, we can see the derivation of words that express kinship. Analysis of the lexical expression of the gender confirmed the idea that feminine rod horses were made from masculine rod horses and allowed us to observe another manifestation of linguistic androcentrism. 2.3 - §. Neutralization of masculine in English In everyday language natural gender is not talked about, not even mentioned. In other words, it is not the type of information that is predicated of a referent. We do not often utter such statements as: it/she’s a woman or my computer is a thing. These sentences are perfectly grammatical of course, and they make sense, but they are not uttered. Or if they are, gender nous such as woman or man are not used to convey information about gender but some implicature, often close to stereotype: She spends a fortune on perfume. – Well, what do you expect, she’s a woman. In texts we find such utterances as She was an extraordinary woman (where the noun is preceded by an adjective) but not She was a woman. In the first of these two clauses the noun woman is only there to support the extra specification of the adjective (extraordinary). In terms of information structure, this amounts to saying that natural gender is a denotatum that resists focalization. I assume, after Lambrecht (1994), that a canonical clause consists of a subject and a predicate, that the subject represents the topic, what is talked ABOUT, and that the predicate represents the focus. With the focus the speaker comments on the topic. (If I say: I am hungry, I am talking about myself, and about myself I add that I am hungry. Be hungry is the denotatum that is focalized). It seems that natural gender is hardly ever focalized. It is not the kind of comment you make on a referent. On the issues of gender grammatical category in linguistic literature although there is much work to be done, this issue is far from a definitive conclusion. There is no clear opinion on the question of the existence of a grammatical gender. This term refers to a wide or narrow range of events50. In many languages, such as Romance, as well as in some Germanic languages, the rod grammatical category is associated with the opposition “masculine” - “feminin”. Unlike some other languages, English does not have a combination of verb and person forms, but it is replaced by a specific type of adaptation, the diamond adaptation, which can be understood using only a few types of rhymes51. In English words that represent both gender neutral words masculinity rod words. Feminin gender words, on the other hand, are made in English by adding the masculine gender - ess suffix. This is also the case in English phraseology. The results of the analysis showed that most of the phraseologies are applied to both sexes, despite the fact that they contain a compound belonging to the "male". Download 175.06 Kb.
