As mentioned above, in the globalization age today, English assumes as more and more important part as a means of international communication than ever. Therefore, in some recent years, the focus of teaching has been promoting oral skills in order to respond to the students’ needs for effective communication.Today english is taught every field of education as a foreign language. Youngers are learned how to connect and explain foreign language with their major. As we know, education plays a vital role in the world. Most of developed coutry's language is english. So in our country studying english is increased. While writing this coursework l searched various methods how to learn english pronounciation and phonology, also its types. Actually studying foreign language is the most complicated task for learners. Because english pronounciation is very challenging.Prounoucing words correctly and clearly isnot easy for second language learnersn So l came across lots of challengings during my research. By the help of my supervisor, l finished the work efficiently.During our research, we searched various experiments that has been done in english pronunciation. Here is the outcome of the research of fricatives in english: After doing the research and giving recording for 9 students, the researcher concluded that the students’ difficulties in pronouncing fricative consonant are producing sound (/θ/, /ð/, /ʃ/,f, /v/, /ჳ/, /z/, /s/ and /h/). The reasons for these difficulties are: different elements between native language and the target language and the same phonetic feature in both language but differ in their distributions. The students’ dominant difficulties in pronouncing fricative consonant are producing sound // and sound /ð/ in various position sound in the word (initial, medial and final word position). The factors of students’ difficulties in pronouncing fricative consonant are; the influence of students’ mother language, the lack of students’ knowledge about English sound system, unsuccessful in using borrowed English words, prefer to speak mother tongue rather than English and less of pronunciation practice.
