ANTH 203 Fieldwork (Archaeology) 

3 credits 

Students will use various kinds of archaeological methods, such as the investigation of 

archaeological monuments, dating, synchronization, and excavation. Students have the 

opportunity to participate in archaeological object fact-finding trips within the region, such as 

in Bishkek, Balykchy, Bel-Saz, Chap, Kochkor, Bashy-Sook, Son-Kol, Tash-Rabat, and Ak-

Olon. At the end of the practicum, the student presents his or her diary and a complete report 

of the fieldwork for certification by the instructors.
