The opening of the Turkestan people's University, an early Higher Educational Institution in Turkestan, in Tashkent in 1918 is also associated with Jadid activity. The new method schools were not helped in any way by the government. The schools operated on a monthly basis from the children's parents, with teachers being paid from the same account. In the exam, children demonstrated that they learned to memorize the suras of the Quran, read and write in Uzbek, learn 4 actions from the account.
