#6: PRE-LEARNING STATE 
The state (feeling) in which we enter learning, has a bigger impact on how quickly we learn than
most people ever realize.
If you start reading a book, reviewing a textbook or listening to a lecture while you are in a
pissed off, angry, state of mind, clearly, you’re not going to learn as fast, remember as much, or
in general, get the most out of that learning time, as you could. Meanwhile, if you are in a great
state of mind (excited & ready to learn), you would remember more and learn faster.
High achievers put a lot of focus on ensuring they approach their learning, skill
development and achievement in the right energy (state). It’s because they understand
the big impact that their state has on their learning, growth & achievement. 
One of the best ways to tap into a great pre-learning state is to create a ritual that consistently
and predictability gets you in a great state ready to learn faster.
Think of Ellen and her mint toss or Barack Obama always playing basketball on the morning of
an Election Day. Big or small, as long as the ritual gets you in the right state of mind, use it.

#7: CREATE A REALISTIC ENVIRONMENT 
Put yourself in an environment that closely re-creates the actual, realistic environment you will
be performing, competing or being assessed in. 
For example, if you’re an basketball player, attempt to recreate the actual game environment in
your training sessions. If you’re studying for a test, don’t just read through textbooks and
attempt to remember what you need to know. Instead, go and actual do mock tests.
In fact, studies show that the number of mock tests a student does is actually one of the best
predictors of how well they will do in the actual test. 
The key is not to learn, or train, in an artificial unrealistic environment, but rather
to learn as if it was the real thing. That way your mind can make more accurate
connections helping you learn faster and perform better.

#8: GET COACHING 
It’s no coincidence that so many of the world’s highest achievers have coaches to support them
to learn new things faster and train their skills more effectively. It’s because the power of
coaching is clear; it works. It helps people learn faster & develop skills faster. 
It’s because a coach can see what you may not be able to see. A coach offers an external point of
view, a different outlook and ongoing feedback for you to get better at what you do. A great
coach is worth his or her weight in gold.
Take Tim Grover as an example, the coach who coached both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant -
2 of the greatest basketball players of all time - to reach new, higher levels of performance, and
received dazzling words of admirations from both of these incredible men for his support &
coaching. 
Get a coach, who knows the way ahead , and begin to leverage the power of coaching.
