What is education for children?
The Australian government requires all children to attend school, however the age at which they must enrol varies by state and territory. There are two major sorts of schools: primary and secondary, which offer distinct educational levels.
Foundation, the first year of formal education, is taught in primary schools. Except for South Australia, Year 7 is the final year of elementary education in the majority of states. From the end of primary school to the conclusion of high school, students attend secondary schools. On the first day of the first term of 2022, the South Australian public school system will change. 7th graders will be educated in secondary school (SA Department of Education 2019). There are three types of schools: government-run, Catholic, and independent. A national curriculum, national statistics and reporting, national testing, and national teaching standards are only some of the national education policy initiatives produced and executed by these levels of government that operate primary schools in collaboration. Early childhood education encompasses all of the training that Australian children get from birth until age eight or around the third grade, including preschool, kindergarten, and primary school. Due to the rapid development and learning of their brains during the first few years of life, learning is typically effortless for young children. This level of education is intended to offer a solid foundation upon which a child can build throughout their lives.
Why is children’s education important?
Children have the finest start in life when they receive a quality education at an early age. Children who participate in high-quality early childhood education and programming are better prepared for primary school on social, intellectual, and emotional levels. In contrast, evidence indicates that if a child’s education falls behind in the first five years of life, it is extremely difficult to catch up. It is true that children’s minds are so receptive, as is commonly believed. Between ages 0 and 3, a child’s brain expands to 80% of its adult size. During that time, it will be twice as active as that of an adult. The relationships they develop throughout this era will shape their worldview for the remainder of their lives. If they are nurtured to be kind and compassionate, they are also more likely to develop compassion as adults and retain the abilities they acquire. Those who display these traits in maturity are more likely to have successful professions and satisfying relationships.
