Phraseological units are either translated using the equivalents that already exist or using other procedures that result in non-phraseological translation since the TL lacks corresponding counterparts. The idioms that completely correspond in both languages, have the same meaning, stylistic undertones, and inner form can be used to represent the first category. And here we have full translation.
Fortunately, there is no need for me to risk the adventure, since my friend, Mr. Edward Leggatt, an able writer as well as an admirable painter, has exhaustively discussed Charles Strickland's work in a little book* which is a charming example of a style.(p.9)

Here we have the second category consists of idioms with imperfect analogues. It signifies that while they have a similar meaning, they differ in the inner personality of an imagined shape. Relative phraseological units are what we refer to as such analogues. They can deviate from the original phrase by a few components, which are often synonymous, followed by a slight change in syntactic or morphological structure, collocability, etc. However, the context takes care of their relativeness.
And when such as had come in contact with Strickland in the past, writers who had known him in London, painters who had met him in the cafes of Montmartre, discovered to their amazement that where they had seen but an unsuccessful artist. p. 10

Again, here we have full phraseological translation. The phrase “come in contact with” is synonymous with “to meet”. The Merriam-Webster dictionary deines the term as “to touch” and “to see and being communicated with”.
I confess that when first I made acquaintance with Charles Strickland I never for a moment discerned that there was in him anything out of the ordinary”.

In the Collins dictionary, the phrase “make someone's acquaintance” is defined as to meet someone for the first time and get to know him a little. Here we have partial translated idiom, because inspite of the similar meaning they have different inner character of imaginary form. The phrase make someone's acquaintance” is replaced with its synonym “to meet”.
“…but I do not suppose I should ever have set down my recollections if the hazards of the war had not taken me to Tahiti.”p.15

In Oxford Learner’s dictionary defines the phrase “set down” has two meanings:” to write something down on paper in order to record it”, and “to give something as a rule, principle, etc”. That I to say the translator used the first meaning of the phrase and here the SL and TL coincide. It is seen how effectively the Armenian phrase "գրի չէի առնի" expresses the metaphorical meaning of the original form. Here we have a one-to-one relationship with the original instance in terms of motivation level, which means that the translated version also has a complete motivation. The only difference is that in the Armenian version it is used in negative form.
