CHAPTER 2

CHAPTER 2. LANGUAGE NOMINATIONS OF FOOTBALL TEAMS, PLAYERS AND THEIR NON-VERBAL ACTIONS.
§ 2.1. Language nominations of football teams
The object of study in this section are commands whose names have a pronounced connotation that conveys a positive assessment. With the help of the name of the team, the naming subject positions the players, as a rule, as a strong, competitive, successful team.
Thus, the use of names in this function, in our opinion, is primarily aimed at influencing others, primarily the opposing team.
In terms of the problem under discussion, the Russian researcher Kartashkova argues that team names are the result of an act of self-esteem of football players. For acts of self-assessment, indirect nomination is very typical, which is characterized by implicative saturation, expressiveness, marked status of a person. Most often, the nominee names one or another personal property that is non-trivial and, accordingly, deserves special attention (ibid.).
As a result of the analysis, we have identified a large group of team names that make up indirect nominations, characterized by a folded external form and a generalizing internal form, and include a single component - a locative, which can be:
1. city name: in English. language - Liverpool, Toronto, etc., in Uzbek. language - Andijon (ayollar futbol klubi), Buxoro and others;
2.villages: in English language - Histon, Chipstead, Crockenfield, Frimley Green, etc., in Uzbek. language - Zomin, Zirabuloq, etc.;
3.separate district of a large city: in English. language - Fulham, Wealdstone, Three Bridges, Squires Gate, etc., in Uzbek. language - Zarafshon, Yangiyer, etc.
4.name of the suburb: in English. language - Whitehawk, Hendon, etc., in Uzbek. language - Vobkent, Shoʻrchi-Lochin, etc.
5. name of the islands: in English. language - Guernsey, Canvey Island, etc. in Uzbek. language - Aral samali.
In the process of research, we have identified characteristic structures for the nominations of football teams in English and Uzbek, (see Table 2.1):
