Activity 6 Play Guessing Adjectives.
Objective: to practise adjective-noun phrases;
Prepare a set of cards or slips of paper on which an adjective-noun phrase is written, e.g. a yellow pen. One pupil is given a card/slip of paper and s/he tells the others only the noun. Other PP must guess the entire phrase, e.g. A: I’ve got a pen.
B: Have you got a red pen?
A: No, I haven’t.
C: Have you got a green pen? etc.
Insist on PP using the entire phrase or sentence when making their guesses. Just saying red or black gives no practice in the adjective-before-noun construction.
Variation. You can use your PP’ things. Ask the pupil not to show the thing to other PP. PP must guess the colour of the thing.
