INTRODUCTION.


TESOL | TEFL Academy provides opportunities for English language teachers of Uzbekistan to obtain an international TEFL certificate and increase their salary by 50%. Of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on May 19, 2021to the decisionAccording to the Cabinet of Ministers, by the academic year 2022/2023, all foreign language teachers working in public higher education institutions should have at least a C1 level national certificate or an equivalent international level certificate.decisiondid Accordingly, internationally recognized certificates assessing the level of knowledge of foreign languages ​​with the appropriate decisionlistconfirmed. The TEFL international certificate is also included in this list1.
To the President's decisionthat's it, from the admission of 2022/23, it has been made mandatory for applicants to have a B2 level certificate in a foreign language, and a S1 level certificate for language majors to study in master's and post-secondary education.
Although the news of the decision was announced much earlier, most of those who planned to study at these stages of education thought that the requirement was unlikely to be implemented. That's why, as the admission approaches, social networks started to write posts about the fact that a foreign language certificate is being made mandatory for the master's degree2.
A dictionary is a set of words and phrases in a language. Teaching vocabulary allows students to express themselves clearly and in detail so that they have a large, extensive vocabulary knowledge and then understand the meaning of words. This is as important as grammar.
Vocabulary and grammar work together to improve not only knowledge, but also the basic language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. It is very important to know and understand the wide set of words, where they correspond and how they work in the structure of a sentence.
Vocabulary is the first and most important step in mastering the language. Learning a foreign language in the classroom can be fun and effective, interactive and fun with the inclusion of appropriate vocabulary exercises. This article is an attempt to study and study various methodologies that can be included in the teaching of vocabulary items in the language class.
Students study vocabulary directly and indirectly. The student's vocabulary portfolio grows from the age of speech to the centuries of learning compiled in the classroom environment. Having active vocabulary lists can increase the student's ability to read and understand their world in books, activities, communication and listening. As the student's vocabulary increases, his ability to read and understand teaching materials, textbooks and interpretation of the world around him increases3.
Learning English vocabulary can be very difficult. The fact that many words have several possible meanings does not make it easy. There are also many homonyms, which are words that sound the same, but are written differently and have different meanings. All these complexities make English one of the most difficult languages to learn, and trying to learn English vocabulary is only part of it.

Fortunately, there are many tools and techniques that can help you learn English vocabulary learn English vocabulary more easily.

Given that students ' success at school and beyond is largely dependent on their ability to read with understanding, there is relevance in providing guidance that provides students with the skills and strategies needed to develop lifelong vocabulary.
So, on the importance of teaching a dictionary to learn a foreign language, the topic of our study was chosen "teaching a dictionary".
The relevance of the given research work is determined by the fact that dictionary teaching is an integral part of the process of teaching foreign languages. This issue requires new and more effective approaches to the teaching process. The search for new educational and methodological approaches is the main task of modern linguists and educators engaged in foreign languages4.

The purpose of the research work is to develop a vocabulary teaching methodology and offer exercises that stimulate the teaching process.
