CONCLUSION
The main goal of the competence-based approach in primary language education is the formation of the language competence of a younger student. In the second chapter, we revealed the concept of "language competence", considered the ways of formation, as well as the main requirements for the formation of this competence.
The language competence of younger students is characterized by a fusion of knowledge, skills and abilities in the English language, literary reading, where the student must have not only theoretical, but also practical knowledge, as well as experience in independent work. All work on the formation of this competence should be built purposefully, gradually becoming more complex, the knowledge gained should find a practical orientation in the further education of the child.
The main requirement for the formation of language competence at the initial stage of education is an orientation towards the formation and development of not only subject, but also meta-subject learning activities.
The task for the formation of this competence should be built taking into account age characteristics, as well as at the individual level of difficulty. The researchers noted that by the end of primary school education, the child's vocabulary is about fifteen thousand words, and he learns most of them in the lessons of the English language and literature. Therefore, it is very important that teachers build their lessons taking into account not only the age characteristics of younger students, but also try to make them interesting, entertaining, so as not to discourage the child from studying this course in basic school.
A modern textbook, today should be only a compass, in a given direction, all the main work falls on the shoulders of the teacher. It depends only on his talent and desire how fruitfully the work in the classroom will be built, whether it will be just the usual transfer of ready-made knowledge, skills and abilities, or whether it will be a joint process to discover new, interesting and unknown.
Comparative analysis of exercises in English language textbooks for elementary school showed that the textbooks pay main attention to the development of oral speech, and the textbooks of written. In the textbooks. There are very few exercises that would contain the material of oral folk art, as well as tasks for working with phraseological units. In the textbooks for the third grade, we found only two such exercises that would contain proverbs and sayings. All educational complexes contain sufficient material to introduce the child to the main sections of the English language.
In each textbook, tasks are offered that will help the child to realize that his native language is really rich and beautiful, and to be able to use it correctly, this is the task of every citizen.
