Le Pronom Objet Indirect Direct objects are for whom or what the action occurs. Indirect Object pronouns function in the same way. Example: Elle achéte les stylos pour les étudiants. (She buys pens for the students.) Elle leur achéte les stylos. (She buys pens for them.) Le Pronom Reflechi Reflexive pronouns are used with pronominal verbs to express an action which is done to oneself. In these sentences, the subject is the same as the direct object. Pronominal verbs will be discussed at a later chapter. However, it is easy to identify them as they are always preceded by “se”. Examples: Elle se marie avec Henri. (She is marrying Henri.) In the example, the woman will be marrying herself to Henri so it uses a reflexive pronoun.
