Today, waste incineration plants are very important element of modern urban 
life, since they help to solve social problems. There are more than 5,000 public and 
private healthcare facilities in Uzbekistan. They generate more than 20 thous. tons 
of hazardous medical waste on average annually. This makes the issue of medical 
waste disposal even more urgent for the Republic. Today, we have a legal framework 
for the operation of medical waste disposal plants. There is a practice providing for 
the collection of multi-colored bags according to the group of hazard, transportation 
and disposal of medical waste in Tashkent. The study of hygienic measurements at 
medical waste disinfection sites is very important. Simultaneously, engineering 
infrastructure and premises for temporary storage of medical waste, as well as waste 
thermal disinfection sites are essential.
