INTRODUCTION
Lexicography is a science that studies the semantic structure of a word, the features of words, their interpretation. Lexicography is a branch of linguistics dealing with the practice and theory of compiling dictionaries. In foreign linguistics, lexicography is considered as an applied scientific discipline that deals specifically with the practice of compiling dictionaries.
Modern lexicography is characterized by such provisions as the idea of vocabulary as a system, the desire to reflect in the dictionary the lexical-semantic structure of the language as a whole and the semantic structure of a single word, understanding the mobile nature of the connection between the signifier and the signified in a verbal sign when highlighting the meaning of a word, recognizing the close relationship vocabulary with grammar and other aspects of the language. This is due to the desire to create a universal dictionary that would reflect all the necessary information about the grammatical structure of the language so that the user of the dictionary, for example, learning a language, would find complete information without having to refer to any grammar references.
Being a part of the science of language, lexicography is closely related to such linguistic disciplines as lexicology, semantics, stylistics, etymology, phonology, etc. Lexicography has common problems with these disciplines. Sometimes she uses the results of their research, and often ahead of them in solving some problems.
