aforementioned risky behaviour. Vengeance, aggression or violence is rewarded
with victory points. Children who play such games may feel that the same
behaviour is acceptable in the real world as well.
4.Makes children socially isolated - Playing too much video games means
children spend less time on other activities such as playground sports, reading
etc. Not only does this discourage
other avenues of growth, spending time
online restricts real - time interaction with people and hampers the
development of social skills.
5.Confuses reality and fantasy - Video games can blur the lines between fantasy
and reality making it hard for children to deal with real - life situations.
6.Video games are addictive - Video games are highly addictive, which lead kids
to
avoid social situations, hamper studies and display social phobias. Video
game playing is known to increase depression and anxiety in kids. Studies have
proven that addictive games have the same effect on the brain as drugs or
alcohol.
7.Video games can have an adverse effect on health - Since video
games are
addictive, children become hooked to them for hours on end. This leads to a
lack of physical activity, which in turn leads
to health problems, such as obesity,
seizures, postural defects, muscular disorder,
skeletal disorders, carpal tunnel
syndrome and more.
8.Video games can make kids vulnerable to bad influences - Playing online
multiplayer games exposes your kids to various people. A lot of these people
exhibit bad
language and behaviour, while others may be sexual predators. Your
children become vulnerable to these characters and may endure harm.
