Monument of Abu Ubayd ibn al-Jarroh. Ubayda al-Jarroh was a prominent army chief, politician, companion and physician of the prophet Muhammad (c.a.v.). Legend has it that he was able to cure a in the 2th century and was recently renovated. In the area of the tomb, you can see a layer-shaped tower, an extremely clean and transparent pool, burial sites, ancient find artifacts, and an old chinor. At the entrance to the tower is a spacious avenue with a flower.
1583. Counter bridge. An ancient bridge with a rich history. It has several names: the Amir Temur Bridge, the Siberian Bridge, the Kashgar Bridge, the Nikolaevsky Bridge. The building was built in Arabic in 122. Construction began on the initiative of Abdullah II, for which it was important to create a convenient passage in the city not only for pedestrians but also for commercial caravans. At the time, Qarshi was an important stop for merchants. Since then, the bridge has been a symbol of the city. It consists of 8 meters long, 5 meters wide, 10 meters high on water, and 3 circuit belts. 4. Odina Mosque and Temple. For the first time in this city, a mosque and mosque were built for women. The complex was built in place of the Kebek Chamber Palace, which was destroyed in the <>th century. The madrassa teaches women science and religious teachings. People prayed and came to the mosque to thank God for their children and loved ones. Such a religious foundation was the only one in the Middle East and had no resemblance anywhere. Currently, the mosque operates a museum that tells the story of the rich history of the Siberian dynasty, whose rulers and chambers contributed greatly
to the history of Islam.


Kilichboy Mosque. Built in 1914, the building looks very similar to the Monastery of Hoja Abdulaziz. The 12 classrooms in Madras are located on the first and second floors. Inside the courtyard there was also a thirst - sewage. Durable walls made of baked bricks are impressive, attract remote attention. Currently, the monastery has established museum activities.

Karshi (Nakhkab, Navtaka, Nasaf, Behbudi - in 1926-1937) is a city in the Kashkadarya region of the Republic of Uzbekistan (since 1926), the regional center (since 1943).

In the center of the Kashkadarya oasis, on the banks of the Kashkadarya, at the intersection of the international railway and highway. The area is 7.5 thousand hectares. The population is 275 thousand people (2021). Karshi is one of the ancient cities of Uzbekistan. It was called Bolo, Nashebolo, Naxshap, Nasaf, etc. in different periods, and it was called Karshi since the 14th century.

The city of Karshi has a special place in Uzbek history. First, Karshi is the first major Turkic-speaking city in Movarounnahr. At that time, the Turkish language was dominant in Khorezm (Urganch), Fergana (Andijan), Shosh oasis (Tashkent), and several large cities along the banks of the Syrdarya, but there was no such city in Movarounnahr. With the construction of Karshi, different people settled here, but Turkish became the dominant language in the city. At that time, Mongols themselves already spoke Turkic language. In particular, Arab traveler Ibn Battuta noted that Kebak Khan's native language was Turkish. During the period of the Chigatai dynasty, and then the Timurids, the Turkish language served as the official language of correspondence.

Currently, in the city of Karshi there are cotton ginning, oil extraction, milk, motor repair, repair mechanics, home improvement, plastic goods factories, meat and flour factories, sewing factories, building materials, railway transport, textile enterprises. There are 6 markets and 17 bank branches in the city. Karshi State University, Karshi Institute of Engineering and Economics, Tashkent Institute of Information Technologies Karshi Branch, Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers Karshi Branch, medical, pedagogic and other 13 vocational colleges, 3 academic lyceums, 9 lyceums and boarding lyceums , 2 gymnasiums, 46 general education, as well as children's music schools, 4 theaters (including regional musical drama theater, regional puppet theater, etc.), regional museum of local history, philharmonic, 13 libraries, 3 cultural and recreational parks. There are 22 hospitals, outpatient clinics and other medical institutions. There are bus and train services from Karshi to cities such as Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Andijan, Termiz, and airplane services from Karshi airport on the routes Karshi - Moscow, Karshi - Tashkent. Opposite the Kokkumbaz Mosque (XVI century), an ancient bathhouse (XVI century), an ancient bridge over Kashkadarya (1583), Sharofboy Madrasah (early XVIII century), Charmgar Mosque (mid-XIX century), Bektemir Madrasah (1905), Khoja Abdulaziz Madrasah (XIX century), Qilichbek madrasa (XIX century) and other architectural monuments have been preserved.

After the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on September 29, 2004 "On preparation for the celebration of the 2700th anniversary of the city of Karshi" and the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 26, 2005 "On additional measures to celebrate the 2700th anniversary of the city of Karshi" large-scale preparations have been started in the city.




The economy of Qarshi is based on the service sector. Most of the population operates in socio-economic networks based on services such as trade, banking, education, and health care. Nearby, the marketplaces of Yerkogon, Asian automobiles, Pharʹaoh farm goods, Orzu, and Qarshi goods serve the city's inhabitants and agglomeration. There are 17 banks in the city, including people's bank, Agrobank, Azerbaijan, Ipoteka Bank, Reconstruction Bank, Silk Road Bank, Asakabank, Hamkorbank, Aloqabank, Microcreditbank, Turonbank, Rural Building Bank, Finance Invest Bank, Trastbank, Asia Alliance Bank, DAVR-Bank, Savdogarbank branches.

Qarshi is the capital of the kashgar region and the main train node in the province. The city is connected by automobile, railway, and airways to foreign countries, other cities of the republic, and regional district centers.
