Economy of Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan aspires to be an industrialized, high-middle-income economy by 2050, and the economy benefits from a highly educated workforce, an abundance of natural resources, and a relatively well-developed infrastructure system. However, gains in economic freedom following the dissolution of the Soviet Union have not to be institutionalized, and the momentum for reform has dissipated.

Uzbekistan’s government has announced efforts to privatize hundreds of state-owned enterprises by 2017. However, corruption rampant throughout the nation, and there is doubt that privatization processes will be open and transparent. Investment in many sectors is restricted, and foreign investors are not allowed to own land.
Open Markets
Uzbekistan’s average tariff rate is 7.2 percent. Importation of goods is very costly and time-consuming. Foreign investors may not purchase land. State-owned enterprises operate in several sectors of the economy. The financial sector is subject to heavy state intervention. Along with the high costs of financing, the banking sector’s limited capacity for financial intermediation hurts the private sector.

C: What kind of things cab I do?
R: You can check your balance, pay bills, order a statement or even transfer money to another bank
C: That’s fantastic! Can I trade the stocks and bonds?
R: I’m afraid you will have to have a special account for that
C: What about getting help if I have any problems?
R: There is an automated answering machine and staff or available 9 to 5 seven days a week
C: It all sounds very good to me. I would like to sign up
R: Alright, Can you answer a few questions please?
C: Certainly….


Dialogue 2:
Guest: Good evening.
Clerk: Good evening, sir.
Guest: I'd like a room for a week or so.
Clerk: Very well, sir. Would you please fill in this form?
Guest: Certainly.
Clerk: What's your name?
Guest: My name is Ibragimov, Botir Ibragimov.
Clerk: Would you spell the last name, please?
Guest: I-B-R-A-G-I-M-O-V, Botir Ibragimov
Clerk: And where are you from?
Guest: I'm from Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Clerk: Yes. Mr. Ibragimov, from Uzbekistan. Room 812. Here's your key.
Go to the end of the hall and turn left. You'll see the elevator. Take the elevator to the eighth floor and turn right. Room 812 will be on your left.
Guest: Thank you.
Clerk: Are those your suitcases?
Guest: Yes, they are.
Clerk The bellboy will show you up to your room.
Guest Thank you very much.


Dialogue 2:
Hotel registrar: Good evening madam. Can I help you?
Mrs. Smith: Good evening. I want a single room, please.
Hotel registrar: Have you booked a room?
Mrs. Smith: No, I'm afraid not. I didn't know I should be coming until today.
Hotel registrar: How long did you want to stay?
Mrs. Smith: At least a week, possibly longer.
Hotel registrar: I'll see what we have, madam. We are very full just at present. Now, let me see - yes, I can offer you a room on the first floor, or there's one on the second floor with a private bathroom.
Mrs. Smith: Oh, I don't need a private bathroom. All I want is a quiet room away from the noise of traffic. I don't sleep very well.
Hotel registrar: Then I'll give you the first floor room. That's all the back, and it's very quiet.
Mrs. Smith: Good. And now what about my luggage?
Hotel registrar : The porter will take your cases up immediately.
Mrs. Smith: Thank you - oh, I should like to be called in the morning at eight o'clock.
Hotel registrar: Would you like early morning tea?
Mrs. Smith: Yes, and a newspaper, please .
