The lesson plan for the topic " COUNTRIES " is designed for students in grades 3-5. The objective of this lesson is to help students understand the concept of cities, their characteristics, and how they are structured to meet the needs of their citizens. This lesson plan will introduce students to various types of cities and provide them with an opportunity to explore different aspects of cities such as transportation, housing, and landmarks.
The first part of the lesson focuses on introducing students to the concept of cities. The teacher will ask students to share what they know about cities and what they think makes a city different from a town or village. The teacher will then provide a definition of a city and explain how it differs from other types of settlements. Students will learn that a city is typically defined as an urban area with a high population density, complex infrastructure, and diverse economic activities.

The second part of the lesson focuses on exploring different types of cities. The teacher will use maps and pictures to show students examples of different types of cities such as megacities, capital cities, coastal cities, and historic cities. Students will learn how these different types of cities have unique characteristics that make them distinct from one another.

The third part of the lesson focuses on exploring the different aspects that make up a city. Students will learn about transportation systems in cities such as buses, trains, subways, and highways. They will also explore housing options in cities such as apartments, townhouses, and single-family homes. Students will also learn about famous landmarks in different cities around the world.

The fourth part of the lesson involves an activity where students can create their own imaginary city. They will be asked to consider factors such as population size, transportation options, housing options, landmarks or attractions when designing their city.
