Understanding and correctly using sentence stress w ill make a 
significant difference to your speaking. It w ill improve your fluency - you can speak 
more quickly and easily if you stress im portant words and do not stress less im portant 
words. It w ill also make your pronunciation closer to a native speaker's, and therefore 
easier fo r the examiner to understand w ithout effort.
