Lesson plan for topic "Eating out"

Topic: Eating out

Subject: English
Time: 60 minutes

Learners: Teenagers
Date: 26.11.2022

Aim of the lesson:
Students will read a conversation between two people and listen to them in a restaurant setting. Exercises focus on related vocabulary, pronunciation and reading and listening comprehension. 

Objectives:
This lesson looks at the vocabulary and phrases needed for eating out in a business situation.

Materials Needed: Pictures, Handouts/visual aids; textbook, chalk, exercises




Presentation (5 minutes): Warm up

Practice (20 minutes): 1. Students will focus on vocabulary. 2. Match the vocabulary to the definitions.

Production (15 minutes): Read the following statements about the dialogue above and decide if they are true (T) or false (F). Listening for details

Monitoring and feedback (10 minutes): Ensure that the students understand the topic by receiving responses and he/ she gives positive feedback to those who say correct answers using correct grammar structure while doing activities.

Assessment (5minutes): The students will be assessed by their active attendance and knowledge of the topic.

Homework: (Activity 5): Write a description of the best meal you have had in a restaurant.



Warm up


In pairs, discuss the following questions.



  1. Have you ever eaten out on business? Where did you go?

  2. What kind of food do you like to eat?

  3. Is there any food that you do not like to eat?

Focus on vocabulary
Part A: Match the vocabulary to the definitions.
