Furthermore, they did investigation in the one of Indonesian University. They also added what purpose of POWER-S approach is for guide students write more effectively by five stages, planning, organizing, writing, editing, and revising. This technique helps students to start writing from making plan, consisting of brainstorming process. The research concluded that by this technique students can develop their writing skill individually by guidance from teacher. Moreover, this study was aimed concerned on Improving the Students’ Achievement in Writing Descriptive Texts through Prepare, Organize, Write, Edit, Rewrite (POWER) Strategy. Written products are often the results of thinking, drafting and revising procedures that require specialized skills, skills that not every speaker develops naturally Brown, (2001, p.334). In the pre-writing step (P), the writer should think about the topic, researches, and gathers necessary information on the topic, and brainstorms to organize ideas to present them coherently. In the main process of writing, ideas are grouped by reviewing and applying the expected organizational pattern (O) of a chosen genre. The text should satisfy expected conventions of the genre—the appropriate rhetorical patterns used in that genre. The during-writing composition process involves writing/drafting(W/D), evaluating (E), and revising (R). In this stage, the writer first prepares a draft, drawing ideas from brainstorming work. Then, the writer evaluates the draft in terms of content, organization, supporting details, coherence, cohesion, use of words, grammar, and mechanics. In the post-writing process, the final stage of the POWER-S approach to writing is sharing (S). This stage comprises submitting, posting, sending, presenting, and/or publishing the written text. In the post-writing process, four drafts are prepared. The POWER-S approach can be used to teach writing formal letters, traditional academic essays, newsletters, and certain other genres of writing. 1 Conclusion In conclusion, affective teaching writing comprehension, teacher should guide students in writing with the effective way. POWER technique is the one of method that can help students write effectively. By this technique students can develop their writing skill individually by guidance from teacher.
