The State Committee for Ecology and Environment Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a state govering body in the field of ecology , environment protection , rational use and restoration of natural resources and is subordinate the Cabinet of Minsters of the Republic of Uzbekistan .

The main tasks and scope of work of the ministry of water management of the republic Uzbekistan are :

• Implementing a unified policy on water resource management , as well as coordinating state bodies , water – management agencits and other organizations in the area of rational use and protection of water recources, prevention and eiiminatijn of harmfui impacts of water ;
• Sustainable and wise water supply to the territories and economic sectors, reclamation of land .

The ancestor of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment is the State Mining and Geological Service , established by Peter the Great on October 2 , 1700 . After the collapse of the soviet Union , The Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Natural Resources were created on August 24 , 1996 . They combined t form the Ministry of NATURAL Resources and the Environment on May 28 , 2008 .
