The objectives o f the research: At the end o f the 20th and early 21st centuries various sources, 
monographs, dissertations and encyclopedias on the history o f the Kyrgyz people are the object 
o f the dissertation, which is the research object o f all scientific publications, the classification 
and analysis o f these sources and literature.
The main aim and functions of the research: analysis o f theoretical and methodological bases 
o f historical learning o f the Kyrgyz people and Studying the peculiarities o f Kyrgyz 
historiography in 1970-1980, Studying the political processes in Kyrgyzstan in 70-80s and their 
coverage in the literature, Studying the literature on socio-economic life o f the Kyrgyz people in 
the 70-80th years o f the 20th century, analyzing o f scientific publications on the history o f the 
Kyrgyz people by foreign researchers in the late 20th and early XXI centuries, showing the new 
theoretical approaches to the study o f history o f the Kyrgyz historians o f independence
Used methods of the thesis. Research o f the theme is carried out on the basis o f methods 
o f objectivity, historicism, periodic sequences, and comparisons.
The scientific novelty and significance: This dissertation gives general overview on 
books, articles and researches on the history o f end o f Soviet and Post-Soviet Kyrgyzstan. At the 
same time, it discusses the contents and essence o f several new books which were published 
after the independence o f Kyrgyzstan.
Theoretical and practical importance of the results of thesis. Investigated and collected 
for the period o f research materials, and also the made conclusions may act the basis for studying
