Scientific novelty of the research.
1. It is proved that verbs are divided into types based on the relationship between grammar and lexis in English and Uzbek languages;
2. It was found that there are mixed verbs as well as transitive and intransitive verbs in English;
3. The similarity of grammatically important verb types such as independent, univalent, bivalent, trivalent, and impersonal verb types, such as infinitive, gerund, adjective, and adverb, are revealed;
4. Developing a grammatically significant classification of verbs in English and Uzbek languages, such as independent meaning, form formation, relation to the object, valence, taking prepositional complement of verbs, intransitive verbs being able to come in the passive form, according to the time limitation of the action, and the types of verbs that require a formal possessor developed;
Level of study of the problem. In linguistics, the research of Uzbek and English verbs has been covered by Uzbek, Russian and some English scholars, and various dissertations and monographs have been prepared.
Research methods. Comparative-analytical, statistical analysis, system-structural methods and methods were used.
Scientific-theoretical and practical significance of research results. Dissertation conclusions are used in the research of other linguistic fields, writing textbooks and manuals on grammar teaching, creating a monograph entitled "Verb structure of the English and Uzbek language family" and writing various methodical manuals.
Dissertation structure. Dissertation consists of three main chapters, “Introduction”, “Verb word group in Uzbek and English languages, issues of their formation and classification”, “Comparative analysis of categorical verb forms in different system languages”, “Functional forms of the verb in English and Uzbek” general conclusions, a list of used literature, and consists of 93 pages.
