& 206-5. Impoundment. [Amended 4-25-94 by Ord. No. 94-28; 5-10-04 by Ord. No. 04-06] The Director of Public Safety, or any member of the Division of Police designated by him, is hereby authorized to remove or have removed any vehicle, left at any place within the township, which reasonably appears to be in violation of this chapter or lost, stolen or unclaimed. Such vehicle shall be impounded until lawfully claimed or disposed of in accordance with applicable statutes. The Director of Public Safety, or any member of the Division of Police acting for him, shall notify the registered and legal owner in writing, by personal service or by certified mail, at the last known address of the owner, of the removal of such vehicle, the reason for the same and the location of the vehicle. Such vehicle shall be retained and impounded until the owner or his duly authorized agent shall have paid the cost of such taking and removal, together with a storage charge of twenty-five dollars ($25) for each and every day such vehicle is retained and impounded.
Parking of inoperable vehicles and/or vehicles that are not legally licensed on private property are restricted to a limit of thirty (30) days. This includes flat tire, missing wheels, left on jacks for long periods during repair of storage, engine problems that prevent the vehicle from being driven. & 209-1 VEHICLES & TRAFFIC & 209-06 ARTICLE I General Provisions & 209-1. Definitions. [Amended 9-10-79 by Ord. No. 79-174] W henever any words and phrases are used in this chapter, the meanings respectively ascribed to them in Subtitle 1 of Title 39 of the New Jersey Statutes Annotated shall be deemed to apply to such words and phrases used herein. & 209-2. Repealer. All former traffic ordinances of the Township of East Brunswick are hereby repealed, except that this repeal shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or committed in violation of any ordinance hereby repealed prior to the taking effect of this chapter. & 209-3. Severability. If any part or parts of this chapter are held to be invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this chapter.
Unless another penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey statute, or except as specifically provided in some other section of this chapter, every person convicted of a violation of a provision of this chapter or any supplement thereto shall be liable to a penalty of not more than fifty dollars ($50.) or imprisonment for a term not exceeding fifteen (15) days, or both.
No person shall operate a vehicle at any time upon the grounds of East Brunswick High School other than on designated paved roadways.
No person shall operate a vehicle upon the grounds of any park as identified herein, other than on designated paved roadways. The parks to which this section shall apply are: Bicentennial Park, Community Park, County Lane Park, Pine Ridge Park, River Bend Park, Sadowski Park, W ashington Heights Park and W elsh Park.

& 209-6 EAST BRUNSWICK CODE & 209-13 The provisions of this Article imposing a time limit on parking shall not relieve any person of the duty to observe other and more restrictive provisions prohibiting or limiting the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles as set forth in N.J.R.S. 39:4-138, any other New Jersey statute or as hereinafter provided.
No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule I attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle at any time during the periods indicated upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule II attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified in Schedule III of any day upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule III attached to and made a part of this chapter.
& 209-10. Stopping or standing prohibited. No person shall stop or stand a vehicle during the times specified in Schedule IV of any day upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule IV attached to and made a part of this chapter. & 209-11. Parking time limited. No person shall park a vehicle for longer than the time limit shown in Schedule V at any time between the hours listed in said Schedule V of any day upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule V attached to and made a part of this chapter. & 209-12. Angle parking. No person shall park a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule VI attached to and made a part of this chapter except at the angle designated and only within the painted white stall lines. & 209-13. Parking Regulations for Township Parks. [Added 6-23-80 by Ord. No. 80-264; amended 7-28-80 by Ord. No. 80-266] No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon the grounds of any park as identified herein, unless in areas so designated for parking. A. Parking prohibited on school property. No person shall park a vehicle at any time on any streets, roads, driveways or alleys located on public school property at the schools described in Schedule VII attached to and made a part of this chapter. B. All parking areas upon the grounds of East Brunswick High School are to be regulated by parking permits. (1)
Parking areas will be divided into three (3) categories: (a) Staff parking. (b) Student parking. (c) Visitor parking. (2) All parking areas so designated will be properly sign-posted so as to identify the area defined. (3)
All staff members and students shall be required to file with the principal's office an application which will include the name and address of the owner and a description of the vehicle. Upon acceptance, a permit and vehicle decal may be issued by the principal or his designee. (4) The vehicle registration decal must be permanently mounted on a parking hang tag to be attached to the rear view mirror, or such other method as may be communicated by the Principal's Office of East Brunswick Public High School to the East Brunswick Department of Public Safety. The decal on all open two-wheeled vehicles, including motor bikes, motorcycles, motor scooters and mopeds must be located for display at the discretion of the owner. [Amended 7-27-81 by Ord. No. 81-363; 8-24-87 by Ord. No. 87-864; 9-14-88 by Ord. No. 88-953] (5) There shall be separate parking areas designated for two-wheeled vehicles. (6) All parking regulations will be in effect between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on school days only. (7)
W hen there are special events at East Brunswick High School of a temporary nature, temporary permits may be issued by the principal of the high school, or the Director of Public Safety may administratively suspend parking regulations for the day or days in question. (8) Special permits shall be made available upon application by owners and operators of utility trucks and vans and by service personnel who are required to park on the grounds of East Brunswick High School while conducting business on the premises. 20909 6-89

All substitute teachers shall obtain either temporary permits or staff permits as set forth above. (10) The Director of Public Safety of the Township of East Brunswick shall cause to be filed in the office of the Clerk of the Township of East Brunswick as a public document a copy of the parking plan showing the areas set forth above. (11)
No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon the grounds of East Brunswick High School other than at areas so designated for parking. All violators will be towed from areas where parking is not perm itted at the violators expense. C. [Added 12-27-82 by Ord. No. 82-483] Traffic and Parking on the grounds of East Brunswick High School are to be regulated by a site plan, a copy of which is on file in the East Brunswick Department of Public Safety, Traffic Safety Section, and which is identified by the New Jersey Department of Transportation as File No. F-1204, approved on October 21, 1982, which site plan is incorporated by reference in this Ordinance. (1) Parking Areas. Vehicles shall be parked within the painted lines shown as areas A through J on the attached site plan. (2) Restricted Parking. The following locations are hereby designated as restricted parking spaces for use by persons who have been issued special identification cards by the Division of Motor Vehicles shown as #8 on the attached site plan. No other persons shall be permitted to park in these spaces. (3) One W ay Streets. The following described streets and isles are hereby designated as One W ay in the directions indicated as shown on the attached site plan. (4) STOP Intersections. The following described intersections are hereby designated as STOP intersections shown as #1 on the attached site plan. (5) No Right Turn. No person shall make a right turn at any of the locations shown as #2 on the attached site plan. (6) No Left Turn. No person shall make a left turn at any of the locations shown as #3 on the attached site plan. (7) Right Turn Only. All vehicles shall move in the direction shown as #7 on the attached site plan.

Yield Intersections. The following described intersections are hereby designated as Yield Intersections, shown as #9 on the attached site plan. (9)
Non-Through Street. The roadway on the high school grounds between Cranbury Road and Summerhill Road is hereby designated as a non-through street. The site plan is to be amended accordingly. [Added 12-27-88 by Ord. No. 88-980] (10) Identification Parking. Parking spaces for persons who have been issued special vehicle identification by the East Brunswick High School (students, faculty and staff) as shown on the attached site plan. (11)
Tow Away. Any vehicle parked or standing as to obstruct or impede a normal flow of traffic, block entrances or exit ways, loading zones, fire hydrants, oil fills, any grass area, pedestrian walkway, or present in any way a safety or traffic hazard may be removed by towing the vehicle at the owners or operators expense. (12)
Repeal. All former traffic ordinances of the East Brunswick High School are hereby repealed, and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with or inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, except that this repeal shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or committed in violation of any ordinance hereby repealed prior to the taking effect of this ordinance.
