2. Types of carbon steels according to their characteristics Usually, carbon steels are divided into several types according to the production method, degree of reduction, chemical composition, quality, places of use and structure:according to the production method - steel obtained in converters, marten and electric furnaces;according to the degree of recovery - fully recovered, unrecovered and incompletely recovered steels;according to chemical composition - carbon and alloyed steels; in terms of quality, ordinary quality, quality and high quality steels;according to the place of use - structural (construction and machine-building), tool-making and special (-corrosion-resistant, heat-resistant, etc.) steels;according to the structure - with ferrite, with pearlite, with ferrite-pearlite. pearlite-ferrite and pearlite-cementite steels

An alloy of iron and carbon, most people divide this type of steel into four grades based on the carbon content:Low Carbon Steel (Mild Steel): Typically contains 0.04% to 0.3% carbon. Depending on the features you need, you can choose a type in which a certain element is added or increased. (Example: Structural steel is high in carbon and manganese.) Low-carbon steel is found in vessels, pipes, and fencing.Medium Carbon Steel: Typically contains 0.31% to 0.6% carbon, as well as 0.06% to 1.65% manganese. Stronger than low carbon steel, but more difficult to weld, form or cut. It is often hardened and softened by heat treatment. This grade of carbon steel is used for axle shafts, train wheels and structural support beams.High carbon steel: commonly known as "carbon steel steel". A typical carbon range is 0.61% to 1.5%. Very difficult to bend, weld or cut. After heat treatment, it becomes very hard and brittle. Applications include cutting tools and wall nailing.ss
