Essay

Analyzed this lesson includes more than two teaching methods in it although it should have been directed and structured for only one technique of teaching


First of all, this lesson is prepared in order to improve student`s reading skills and through this, vocabulary, grammar and speaking skills also were stimulated to develop. Furthermore, the methods such as game-based learning, student and group based interaction learning were used. Even if the activities are made in order to improve reading skills, students may be required to use their thinking and speaking skills as well by using their vocabulary base.
The lesson includes 7 activities in it with its order due to the task and texts. Also, they are formed in quiet correct way that 2 activities which require to do critical thinking and speaking activities for pre reading stage. Moreover other 3 tasks were made for while reading stage whereas last 2 tasks were made for post reading stage. In addition, the tasks given were prepared and appropriate for pre-intermediate level students and the texts with options are correctly chosen for this level of students. Because, the vocabulary level which are suitable for working with reading text and the level of the words in order to memorize are quiet apt for this level students.
Second of all, through this type of lesson stages the destination of learning language can be reached more easily than simple plans for each task is related to each other. Because one activity may ask previous vocabulary base while the following one might be made with cooperation of preceding two tasks.
From my point of view, this plan of the lesson would be the perfectly
structured lesson if an group centered and blended learning stage of the teaching method was also added. Because, almost all tasks ask students to answer and write the answers with speaking, but, there wasn`t mentioned any stage when students worked altogether or with computers.
