Of course, everyone loves nature. But sometimes there are people endowed with some special attitude to all living things.
One of them was the writer and scientist Vitaly Valentinovich Bianki.
Vitaly Valentinovich Bianchiwas bornIn Petersburg. The melodious surname he inherited from his Italian ancestors. Perhaps, from them also carried away, artistic nature. From father -ornithologist(ornithology is the science that studies birds) - the talent of a researcher and interest in everything “that breathes, bloomsAndis growing."
Father worked at the Zoological Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences and hebrought Vitaly into his world -worldmuseum collections, outlandish birds and animals. It was an amazing world. There, behind the glass showcases, animals brought from all over the globe froze. How little Vitaly wanted to find a magic word that would “revive” museum animals. The real ones were at home: a small zoo was located in the keeper's apartment.
The family lived right opposite the museum, and the children - three sons - often visited its halls.
Every summer the family went out of town, to the village of Lebyazhye. There they were waiting for fishing, catching birds, feeding chicks, rabbits, hedgehogs, squirrels.
“My father started taking me to the forest with him early. He called every herb, every bird and little animal by name, patronymic and surname. He taught me to recognize birds by sight, by voice, by flight, to look for the most hidden nests. He taught a thousand signs to find living animals secretly from a person. And - most importantly - from childhood I taught to write down all my observations.

There the boy went on a real forest journey for the first time. He was then 5-6 years old. Since then, the forest has become for him a magical land, a paradise. Interest in forest life made him a passionate hunter. No wonder he was given his first gun at the age of 13. He also loved poetry. At one time he was fond of football, even entered the gymnasium team. Interests were different, education was the same.
At first - a gymnasium, then - the faculty of natural sciences at the university, later - classes at the Institute of Art History. And Bianchi considered his father to be his main forest teacher. It was he who taught his son to record all observations. Over the years, they have been transformed into fascinating stories andfairy tales.
The whole environment surrounding the future writer from childhood awakened and determined his interest in his native nature for the rest of his life.
The Bianchi family was often visited by zoologists, travelers, experienced people. They told a lot and interestingly, and Vitaly listened eagerly and began to understand that the living world of nature is his vocation, passion, love. He tried to understand what the birds were talking about, why the paws of a mole and the legs of a heron were so different, why nature gave one a long nose, and another got a tiny nose, why some animals build houses on trees, others in an open field, and still others - under the water. All these difficult questions haunted Bianchi.
Thirty-five years of writing
Bianchi about the forest. This word often sounded in the titles of his books: "Forest houses", "Forest scouts". Tale, short stories, fairy tales of Bianchi uniquely combined poetry and exact knowledge. The latter he even called in a special way:fairy tales. There are no magic wands or walking boots, but there are no less miracles. Bianchi could tell about the most unsightly sparrow in such a way that we are only surprised: it turns out that he is not at all simple. The writer managed to find the magic words that "disenchanted" the mysterious forest world.
For four years, Bianchi participated in scientific expeditions along the Volga, the Urals, Altai and Kazakhstan.
IN1917 moved to Biysk, where he worked as a natural history teacher and organized a local history museum.
