OUTLINE
This workshop tackles the ways in which vulnerabilities are reinforced in times of crises. We will discuss what role gender plays in the contemporary period of uncertainties linked to conflicts, wars, resources, and pandemics.
In the last years, we have all, at different levels, experienced increased uncertainties. The world has turned more unpredictable than ever before. What can we learn from the experiences in countries like Switzerland, Armenia and Uzbekistan, which face different types of uncertainties and vulnerabilities? Which role does gender play in each context? This workshop aims to give a space for exchange between members of the academy, of governmental and non-governmental organizations, and of civil society on possible answers to these and other questions. It also aims to spark new debates and share ideas about how to address uncertainties without reinforcing gendered inequalities.
As one result of this workshop, we will produce short texts or podcasts that can be distributed in social media. This will offer a follow up and an opening to other forms of debate on the topic.
