• Before doing the exercise, check that students understand over (sentence 3) as an alternative to more than. After doing the exercise, ask someone to read out the fi rst sentence so that it is true for them and get other students who circled the same word to raise their hand. Repeat this procedure once more for the fi rst sentence. Ask individual students to give reasons for their answer. Repeat this procedure with the other four sentences. Ask individual students to give reasons or explanations for their answer, and to give examples. • Put students into pairs and get them to do the exercise together. Get feedback from the class.
